This season’s tarotscopes feature The Realest Oracle (I was lucky enough to get sent an advance copy, but you can preorder now to get your own set in July!) and the Astrol-OG Deck.
When we think about the element of air through the lens of the tarot, we’re often talking about the suit of swords and its accompanying themes: communication, truth, perception, ideas, insights, information, processing, objectivity, and logic. Air is the element of the mind, and is considered a fast-moving element. With air, we can find sharp clarity or foggy, uncertain confusion; powerful facts or off-center arguments. And when we think about Gemini, we’re talking about mutable air in particular, air with a flexible and adaptive nature.
Gemini is a curious and playful sign, one that wants to discover and share as much information as possible. As a mutable sign, they take the strong ideas and focused intensity of the signs before them and use their intellectual resilience to explore, expand, analyze, and express. If you had a big, bold idea in Aries season, if you’ve spent Taurus season growing and developing your goals, Gemini can be a perfect time to wrap up that first phase of work, to clarify your purpose, and to recognize what has felt good about the process — and what might need to shift. What are you learning about who you are? How are you transforming, both internally and externally?
In the major arcana, Gemini’s birth archetype of the Lovers is associated with the number six. And in numerology, the number six is all about making authentic choices, joyfully investing in community, giving back to those we care about, and taking responsibility for our own happiness. The Lovers is a card of stability and support, of knowing that we are loved for exactly who we are, of celebrating how far we’ve already come. There’s a spirit of reciprocity here that is echoed in the mutable air of Gemini: wanting to learn and grow not only for ourselves, but to make everyone around us stronger, safer, more empowered. How do we share information? How do we support those we care about? What do we give and receive in equal measure? And in allowing ourselves to be intellectually flexible instead of stubbornly clinging to specific ideas, how do we grow together as a community?
In this season of Gemini, remember that it’s okay to keep asking questions, to stay curious, to want to keep growing and learning along the way. Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, planet of movement and information, so if you know your Mercury placement you can also include that card in this spread template for a more complete picture of your Gemini season. We’re trying something different this season and featuring readings with The Realest Oracle rather than a standard tarot deck — I hope you love it as much as I do!
My first book, Finding the Fool: A Tarot Journey to Radical Transformation, is available now at your favorite local bookstore! As always with these readings, take what you need and leave what you don’t. Happy Gemini season!
You have no problem being in the spotlight, and this season, you may find yourself the object of more attention than usual. Soak it up! If you’ve been working hard towards something, this may indicate that you’ll get the recognition you so deeply deserve this season. And if you’ve felt sidelined during a project or goal, allow yourself to receive the accolades or compliments that are your due. Don’t dim that natural flame and brilliance — instead, let yourself shine brightly. What does it feel like for you to be the recipient of attention? How do you hear and understand praise?
You’re no stranger to self-care, but this season, pay particular attention to the ways that you are physically tending to your health, wellness, and sense of comfort. Your body has the capacity for so much joy, wonder, awe, and magic, but it also requires consistent, tender loving care, gentleness, and compassion. If you’ve been feeling particularly tense, stressed, anxious, or any other intense emotion, pay attention to how that feels in your body, and make an effort to prioritize ease as much as possible. What are your rituals and routines around pleasure? How do you invest in your body’s joy?
Happy birthday, Gemini! Projects, ideas, or collaborations may be picking up steam this season, propelling you forward in a way that might feel extremely empowering, joyful, and exciting for you. This card also speaks of rapid, necessary change, the kind that feels invigorating, so be ready for quick shifts or powerful growth. What has been holding you back, and how might you take advantage of this new freedom? What have you been working on, that you can continue to fly forward with? Where have you been waiting for a break, that might come at just the right time?
This season may bring some opportunities to look deep within, confront some unexpected truths, or grapple with a seemingly contradictory aspect that you carry. All of us have pieces of our spirit that we may not acknowledge on a daily basis — and there’s truly nothing wrong with that. But if you’ve been avoiding thinking about something, tackling a problem, or owning up to a choice you’ve made, give yourself an opportunity to sit with that truth instead of continuing to ignore it. How can you show yourself kindness even in difficult moments? How might being honest with yourself empower you?
If you’ve been giving of yourself more than usual these days, showing up for those you love or making an extra effort to be generous, consider this card your sign to take a step back and fill your own cup. Offering your time, space, energy, attention, love, devotion, or other skills is a beautiful thing, one of the best parts of being a human in a joyful and compassionate community. But there’s only so much you can give before you start to be parched yourself. What nourishes your spirit, your mind, your body, your heart? What does hope mean for you? How can you be more intentional about recharging, so that you can continue to show up for those people and things that you love?
You’re known for your work ethic and attention to detail, and this season, you may find yourself within sight of an important ending, literally or figuratively crossing a major finish line. Celebrate this victory wholeheartedly, rather than focusing on any perceived flaws or unfinished aspects — you’ve been working hard to accomplish or complete something, and this is a time to honor all of that effort. What does it feel like to sit in stillness and revel in how far you’ve come? How can you be intentional about celebrating, instead of immediately looking to the next set of tasks ahead?
As you move into Gemini season, you may find yourself stepping up to the plate in more ways than one: owning your desires, taking charge of a situation or project, and otherwise demonstrating that you are more than capable of being in charge of something important. You have more authority than you may realize, and this season may bring opportunities to get your shit together in more ways than one. Don’t let fear hold you back — instead, take this chance to write your own rules. What makes you feel strong, powerful, badass? How can you take ownership of the things you care about?
You’re known for your intensity, and this season, channel all of that power and focus into devoting yourself to learning something. It could be a new topic or interest, or this could mean that you’re meant to dive deeper into something you already know. We are in the time of Gemini now, and that means you can indulge your curiosity as much as possible, whether that means in literal classwork or by working with a mentor to develop specific skills. How do you learn, and what does it mean to gather information and absorb it? What are you ready to devote yourself to?
If something has felt out of control, uncertain, or frustratingly stuck lately, you may find a sense of trust and even ease as we move into this new season. Call it luck, call it karma, call it whatever you like, but sometimes we are deeply conscious of forces moving around and within us, taking action in ways we may not be capable of doing ourselves. Patience might be hard for you, but trust that things are clicking into place, that movement is happening even if you can’t see it, and that whatever you’ve been waiting for is on its way. What do you believe in?
You’re known for your ambition and ability to get shit done, but this season, make sure you take the time to really clarify what those goals are, and to be sure that what you’re working for is truly something you want. Instead of obsessing about targets or specific objectives, give yourself the opportunity to get real with yourself, and to be honest about what you’re craving. When you know what you want, you’re unstoppable, so this season trust in your capacity to get shit done and believe in your future. What are you ready to pursue wholeheartedly?
As we shift into Gemini season’s mutable air, you may find yourself beginning a new journey, with an opportunity to leave something that’s felt stagnant or complete behind and begin another chapter. There is such rich magic in fresh starts, in looking at something with a new perspective, so take full advantage of where you are and enjoy the ride. This is a time of courage and optimism, when anything feels possible, so don’t limit your own desire — lean in and truly honor what it is you’re ready to work towards. What are you dreaming about? How will you make those dreams come true?
How’s your sense of resilience these days? It takes a lot of strength to be vulnerable, and this season may bring a few roadblocks on your path to success. There’s no shame in feeling disappointment or discouragement, but remember that sometimes, it’s important to not take no for an answer, to keep pushing toward those big goals. What supports you in challenging moments? How are you showing up for yourself? What do you still believe is possible, and how are you pursuing that ambition?

Before we get into our Taurus season ‘scopes, I want to take a moment to remember the magnificent Rachel Pollack. If you aren’t familiar with her, I would invite you to read her story and pick up a copy of one of her many brilliant books. Pollack was a trans pioneer in the worlds of writing, comics, and tarot, and I can honestly say that I would not be writing about tarot in the way that I do if it were not for her work. Pollack’s presence will be deeply missed by myself and so many others, and I am so grateful for all that she shared with the world.
Welcome to Taurus season, friends. These tarotscopes are built around the astrological correspondences created by The Order of the Golden Dawn, and while some of them can be useful for more deeply understanding zodiacal signs and major arcana archetypes, others can feel strange, off-putting, or straight up confusing. In particular, the association between Taurus and the major arcana’s Hierophant can be a perplexing one for many, as Taurus’ earthy sensuality and fixed-sign devotion may feel at odds with the common depictions of the Hierophant as a priest or pope, someone celibate and intentionally removed from the pleasures and pitfalls of daily life so that they can focus on more spiritual concerns. But this correspondence provides us with an excellent opportunity to free the Hierophant from this narrow religious depiction, allowing them to become someone a bit more relatable.
The Hierophant is associated with the number five in the major arcana, which is a digit tied to freedom, adventure, friction, change, and necessary shifts. After the Emperor’s organization and dedication to systems, the Hierophant encourages us to consider those traditions through a new lens, and to be deliberate about what we keep, and what we leave behind. This archetype can teach us about finding power in what we don’t understand, and having courage to pursue the unknown. In the same way that Taurus works hard but also prioritizes pleasure, the Hierophant holds their own contradictions, encouraging us to reach for knowledge but not cling to it so tightly that it can’t grow or transform.
Put another way: the Hierophant doesn’t have to just be a holy figure, someone who holds spiritual keys of knowledge or serves as an uptight gatekeeper of truth. Instead, the Hierophant can be a door opener, a change bringer, someone who shares and absorbs information simultaneously. Think about the best instructor you know, whether they teach professionally or not: is this someone pompous, who believes they already understand perfectly, who insists that their perspective is the only true way? Or is this instead someone open-minded, curious and competent, who is constantly questioning and delighted by contradictions? What kind of teacher do you learn better from? Who do you want your Hierophant to be?
Taurus teaches us about birth, growth, abundance, pleasure, and comfort, and the Hierophant similarly empowers us to not be afraid to stretch beyond what we have always been taught. We can be both physical and spiritual, can delight in the present while respecting the past, can dream of more while still being grateful for what we have. In this season of Taurus, don’t neglect your physical self at the expense of spiritual aspirations. Consider where you may be feeling restricted or restrained, where an old way of being might be getting in the way of new desires or dreams. How can you give yourself permission to break free, to evolve? Where might internal friction help you find external movement?
Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. Taurus is ruled by Venus, planet of values and balance, so if you know your Venus placement you can include that in your spread for more insights into your season.

As always with these tarot readings, take what you need and leave what you don’t. Happy Taurus season!
There’s something so invigorating about a fresh start, and for you, this season is an opportunity to explore something that connects to your sense of safety, community, and support. Pentacles are the suit of earth, representing the tangible resources that empower you to do everything that you want to do, and with the page, we find an energy of curiosity, exploration, and rule-breaking. Where are you ready to plant some new seeds, to see what might grow in your world? How can you look at something with a fresh perspective, instead of limiting your ideas to ones that fit within old expectations?
Happy birthday, Taurus! It may feel like this season brings a sharp new sense of clarity, insight, or truth, as something is revealed to you or within you that changes everything. As the sign of fixed earth, you are usually associated with dedication and focus rather than flexibility — yet in looking at something with fresh eyes, in allowing yourself to reconsider something that you have preciously taken for granted, you may find a new willingness to explore. What is opening up within you? How can you start down a new path of discovery? What are you ready to learn?
As an informative-gatherer, you have a skill for asking questions that do not always have easy, simple answers. And this season, that’s something to celebrate about yourself, as the Chariot often pushes us to consider the road we are following, and to pay attention to how our actions may serve (or get in the way of) our true sense of purpose. What feeds your imagination, your joy, your spirit, and how do your more tangible goals contribute to those more lofty aspirations? How can you make sure that your choices are in alignment with your most personal truths?
It may feel this season that you are stuck in a situation with no exits, that all of your choices have been stripped away. Yet eights are numbers of power, and in spite of the challenges you may be facing right now, you have an opportunity here to reclaim your magic, to own your strength, and to take control of the narrative. Instead of getting lost in your own fears or anxieties, take a hard look at what is really happening rather than just what you’re concerned could happen. How can you change your perspective? Where do you have more options than you may realize?
You have so much power, so much energy, so much strength within you, and this season is the time to say yes. Yes to what? Literally whatever you like. The Magician is an archetype of courage and potential, of looking at absolutely anything and believing that there is a way to accomplish it. If you find yourself doubting your own abilities, talents, or ideas this season, remember the Magician, and let their boldness and innovative spirit flow through you. What could you accomplish if you stopped letting fear influence your decisions? What is worth pursuing?
As you move into Taurus season, it may feel that you’re in the home stretch of a big project, ambition, dream, or working. And you’re often comfortable in this space, in cleaning up the final details or reviewing everything carefully to ensure that nothing is out of place. Yet in your desire to dot every I and cross every T, don’t forget to also celebrate everything you’ve accomplished, and to glory in where you are. As you race towards the finish line, make space for rest, for joy, for pleasure. How long have you been working towards this, and how does it feel to be nearly finished? Where can you slow down and enjoy the ride?
If last season demanded rest, perspective, and healing, Taurus comes charging in with fresh ideas and a reinvigorated sense of purpose. You’re known for craving balance and harmony, for working in alignment with your values, and the page of swords is a figure of curiosity, clarity, and discovery. Pay attention to what you are taking in this season, to the information that is presented as absolute truth, to the ways that perspective changes what is shared and what is kept hidden. How do you recognize fact from fiction?
There are times when we need to act, and times when we are better served by waiting, observing, and choosing our moment. This season, you may find yourself holding back information, or feeling reluctant to make a decision until you have more information. There’s nothing wrong with being cautious, but don’t let not knowing every single detail about something or someone keep you on the sidelines — sometimes all we can do is grab the blade and move forward. Where are you hesitating, and why? What is living beneath your fear, and how can you take control of the situation instead of letting something pass you by?
You’re someone that is almost always on the move, whether it’s creatively, energetically, spiritually, physically, or intellectually. Yet the World is a card of endings and completion, of declaring something finished, of reveling in your accomplishments. And sometimes, this can be a really hard energy to sit in! As you move into Taurus season, give yourself permission to celebrate and rest, to respect how hard you’ve worked, to allow others to acknowledge all that you’ve done. How have you been transforming, and what does it feel like to recognize a completed metamorphosis? How do you know when something is done?
If last season was all about planting a new seed for your future, this season may find you reaping what you have sown, and celebrating just how far you’ve come. Cycles don’t always move quickly, and what you began in Aries season may not be already coming to fruition now that the sun is in Taurus. Yet you have gotten more done than you may realize, and this season offers an opportunity to take satisfaction in your progress, to recognize the stability you have built, and to begin to look forward to the next beginning. How can you make space for pleasure, for rest, for pride? What have you created, and how can you take the time to actually enjoy it?
After difficult times or tumultuous periods in our lives, it can feel challenging to remember who we are, what we need, and where we might be going. When the Star comes forward, it’s a reminder that all is not lost, and that hope is a mindset rather than an emotion. The Star is your birth card, and so as you move into Taurus season, give yourself the time and space that you need to check in with yourself. How can you create intentional room for healing, and what does that healing look like? What makes you feel safe, comforted, protected? When you shift your gaze from the present to the future, what do you see?
Last season may have felt like an intense period of putting your nose to the grindstone, getting your hands dirty, and putting in consistent, daily effort towards a big goal. And after all of that hard work, Taurus season offers you a chance to slow down, give yourself a break, and take some much-needed rest. But while Taurus is known for sensual, physical pleasures, the four of swords is also about mental recovery, about giving your mind a chance to settle and calm. How can you set boundaries that allow you to truly unplug, unwind, unclench? What would it look like for you prioritize self-care, in both a physical and mental sense?
This season’s tarotscopes feature The Next World Tarot and The Compendium of Constellations.
Aries season marks the start of a new zodiacal year. And whether you live your life by the cycles of the moon or are a more casual astrological observer, this time of year is always an excellent opportunity to revisit where you’ve been, what you’ve longed for, and where you want to go. If you are the type who sets intentions, chooses a word of the year, or makes vows for things that you want to accomplish, take some time over the next few days to review those goals, and to consider any adjustments or changes that you might want to make. And if you’re more the fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants type, Aries season can be an amazing time to look ahead, dream big, and clarify your most pressing desires.
Associated with the major arcana archetype of the Emperor, Aries is cardinal fire, bold and determined, ushering in the spring and the new year with confidence, energy, and purpose. With Aries, we tap into initiations and ambitions, pursue what we want with passion, take joy in our wildest dreams. The Emperor is a natural fit for this aspect of Aries’ energy, encouraging us to create structures that empower us to accomplish everything we can possibly imagine. And as archetype number four, we see those characteristics reflected in this card’s numerology, as four is a digit of foundations, stability, and intentionality.
I’ve written so many times about the Emperor’s sometimes off-putting approach, and how this archetype can feel alienating or uncomfortable for queer and marginalized communities who have experienced harm from heteronormative, patriarchal, capitalistic systems. But the Emperor is so much more than wealth-gathering, power-hungry leaders who want to build rules that restrict and regulate. Instead, this is about understanding our own limits, our own boundaries, and knowing ourselves well enough to recognize what we need in order to thrive. What makes us feel protected, empowered, emboldened? Which methods allow us to fully harness our creativity, optimism, imagination, and skills? How can we use plans and procedures to give our work shape, form, precision?
In this season of Aries, don’t let your power get lost in fussy procedures or self-policing. Instead, allow your ambitions to burn brightly, and balance all of that passion with intentionality, focus, and self-control. Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. Aries is ruled by Mars, planet of action and friction, so if you know your Mars placement you can plug that into this spread template for a more complete picture of your Aries season.

As always with these tarot readings, take what you need and leave what you don’t. Happy Aries season!
Happy birthday, Aries! What brings you joy, pleasure, satisfaction? This season, carve out some time to feel deeply, to let yourself get swept away by happiness, to celebrate how much you’ve achieved. The suit of cups is tied to the element of water and matters of the heart, and with this card we tend to think about the wishes that we have made and had fulfilled, as well as any wishes we may still be hanging on to. It’s okay to still want things even when we have received so much, to make space for new dreams once the old ones are fulfilled. Where is your gratitude these days? And what new desires might be making themselves known in your emotions, intuition, or subconscious?
What gifts might the element of water have for you this season? As we shift into a new astrological year, it may feel like something new is expanding within you, your heart making room for new dreams, new relationships, or new discoveries about your internal landscape. While this kind of flow may not feel as easily controlled or understood as you are comfortable with, there can be real magic in seeing where your water naturally cascades, in recognizing what you are innately drawn to. What grounds your heart? How do you balance safety and longing? What new discoveries are you ready to make about yourself?
It may feel like you’ve been moving through something intensive and complex, something that has required soul-searching or firm decisions, something that has left you feeling reborn in a way. The suit of swords is all about the element of air and the mind, and when we find ourselves parsing and processing difficult truths, it can leave us feeling a bit worn, a bit exhausted. Yet this kind of travel can be grueling or disorienting, and in moving into a new phase, can require us to take a beat, catch our breath, and assess our new surroundings. Where have you been going, whether you realized it in the moment or not? Where do you now find yourself, and what does that mean for your next steps?
Where are you exploring big feelings, tender sensitivities, or new connections? Open-hearted, eager to please, and prioritizing emotion above all else, the knight of cups can feel like being swept away by romance, love songs, and anything else that makes our hearts flutter. But knights always require discernment, asking us to consider how we are balancing this energy in our lives — and with this suit of water and matters of the heart, the knight of cups urges us to not get so lost in tidal waves of vulnerability or connection that we lose sight of ourselves. Where are you letting emotions flow through you, offering passion and wonder and joy? And where might emotions be carrying you off to sea, making it hard to remember which way is up?
Where have your dreams been wandering? It may feel this season like there are so many possibilities stretching out before you, like only your imagination is the limit to what you could accomplish, discover, or become. There is joy and wonder in this feeling, in looking at all of your opportunities and connections, in making space for every single dream you carry in your heart. But it can also be paralyzing sometimes, to look at the scope of your aspirations and not be entirely sure what you want to pursue and prioritize. Take your time in fantasy land, but don’t get lost there, gazing into your dreams without committing to any. What does your heart want most?
What is beckoning to you? As you move into the fiery passion of Aries season, this is an excellent opportunity to look up from your work and shift your gaze to what you are working towards. Vision is a powerful tool, and it may feel like things are clicking into gear this season, as your imagination and your intentions align to let those dreams manifest in tangible and necessary ways. But you have the gift of care, and can often anticipate what might need particular attention, a more thoughtful eye. What do you see stretching out before you, that is finding its form and turning into something extraordinary? What are you striving towards?
If you’ve had your nose to the grindstone lately, putting all of your energy and intentionality and focus into a major issue or tantalizing challenge or important opportunity, this season may be an invitation to be more intentional about your mental boundaries. How often do you let stresses, obstacles, or other things that you cannot control creep into your consciousness? What systems or limits do you have in place that help to protect your mind, your peace, your sense of stability? Sometimes this card means pacing yourself and other times it’s an invitation to shut the laptop and take a vacation, but either way, it’s time to take some space for yourself. What do you need to feel safe?
This season may feel intense, confusing, or even desperate, so if you’ve been working through something challenging, complicated, or painful, please show yourself some grace. This card tends to point to our deepest fears and most potent nightmares, a time when we are so lost in terror that we have trouble seeing reality for what it is. You likely have more support, options, and even hope that you might realize, so this is a time to lean on those you love and let their perspective help you find yourself again. How are you determining what is true, and what is simply one viewpoint? What can you do to offer yourself tenderness, even if it feels like everything is falling apart? Where are you spinning your mental wheels, and where could you actually make a necessary and impactful change that opens up a new door?
What gifts might the element of fire have for you this season? You’re a fire sign moving into a season of fire, so this ace of wands feels perfect for you: high energy, passionate, joyfully exploring and seeking and expanding. For you, Aries season might feel vibrant and exciting, with new things to make, discover, and understand. What is capturing your interest right now, pulling you in and demanding more of your time, energy, imagination? Where is your creativity sparking and igniting, begging you to feed it? This could be a season to really lean into your passions, so don’t put a cap on your magic. What makes you burn?
What gifts might the element of earth have for you this season? After making space for your desires, curiosities, and longings last season with the Fool, Aries season gives you an opportunity to ground and stabilize, to settle on the earth and find your footing even as you begin to plant new seeds. Aces serve as invitations, and you are so good at recognizing opportunity, at seeing how something small can grow into something big and beautiful that sustains us for the long haul. Consider what you are ready to invest in, what you want for your future, what will support you over time. What are you ready to thoughtfully initiate?
What is grounding you, sustaining you, assuring you? In this fiery season of Aries, you might feel tempted to rush ahead, start big things, or make quick decisions so that you can get to the heart of what you really crave. But Strength is a card of patience and purpose, of taking our time, of leaning into the things that help us stabilize. You are stronger than you may realize, and are capable of creating containers for safe discovery and deep analysis. Where is your resolve being tested, and how do you navigate major choices? What do you feel certain of, and where might you be craving more time to examine and explore? How are you showing up for yourself, and how does that consistent care empower you to make the kinds of moves that deeply and authentically resonate?
Last season may have brought some important realizations or new clarity around a particular situation, relationship, or desire. And this season, hard work, daily devotion, and intentional effort are the name of the game, which could be an excellent opportunity to put those recent discoveries to use. We don’t always give patient, consistent effort its due, yet when we recognize something that we want and put continual exertion towards reaching that goal, sometimes we make progress that we don’t even fully see as its happening. Tend to your darlings, let them root and stabilize, and see what is blooming when you finally raise your head. What are you ready to dedicate yourself to?
This season’s tarotscopes feature The Muse Tarot and The Spacious Tarot Expansion Pack.
Pisces has a reputation for being dreamy, artistic, and sensitive — and as the final sign in the zodiac, it’s true that Pisces’ mutable water gives this sign the ability to feel deeply, empathize generously, and connect fully. Mutable signs come at the end of each season and are known for flexibility and adaptation, an ability to bring a fresh perspective to situations. As a water sign, Pisces can be more vulnerable to heavy emotions, but also has a seemingly bottomless capacity for exploration and discovery, a willingness to sift through mystery and find diamonds in the rough. And whether or not you have any personal planets in this sign, Pisces can teach every one of us more about sitting in the strange, the magical, the unclear, and letting things slowly come into focus on their own time.
Our birth card for this season is the Moon, a card of wildness and imagination, one tied to the number nine (card 18 // 1+8 = 9). The Moon and nine both explore the unknown, but not in a way that demands that it be categorized and understood: instead this is holding space for that which may never be known, which lives in our subconscious, which scatters into shadow when we look at it too closely. We all have strange jewels buried within us, as Elizabeth Gilbert writes, and finding those jewels in unexpected places is part of the wonder of being human. The act of searching is just as important as whatever we may discover, and is a lifelong process — one that cannot be rushed.
Where are you expanding, emerging, exploring? What are you discovering, and how are those discoveries changing you? How are you evolving, and how active are you in that evolutionary process? Change is part of being human, and being willing to be flexible in how we define ourselves, in the stories we tell ourselves about who we are allowed to be, can have a major impact on our ability to grow. Remember that Pisces is the final sign of the zodiac, which may have you feeling reflective or introspective about where you were last year at this time. What ambitions did you set in Aries season of 2022? What has come to fruition? What have you learned about yourself? How have you changed?
In this season of Pisces, make space for your own mysteries, and give yourself opportunities to dream without expectation or limits. Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. Pisces is traditionally ruled by Jupiter, planet of expansion and abundance, but modern astrologers also consider Neptune an additional ruler, planet of inspiration and illusion. If you know your natal placements for these planets, you can include them in your reading for a more complete picture of your Pisces season.
Finding the Fool: A Tarot Journey to Radical Transformation will be in the world in a little over a week! As always with these tarot readings, take what you need and leave what you don’t. Happy Pisces season!
You’re known for your heat and your sparks, but as we move into this season of dreamy, mutable water, Temperance asks you to slow down, be intentional, and consider the ways that you are integrating your hopes and dreams with your reality. We all have parts of ourselves that we don’t understand — but in learning to love those strange pieces, in allowing them to take up space and even have their own demands, we learn more about who we are, and who we want to be. And even more importantly, we learn how those odd pieces fit in with our more conventional ones. What is taking up space in your heart? What have you been learning about yourself through both challenges and victories?
Your steady, solid earth keeps you grounded, responsible, and focused — and your birth card of the Hierophant understands the importance of history and tradition, the ways that what we do in the present helps us more deeply appreciate the past. But it can be easy to get stuck in how things have always been, to forget to make space for expansion and growth when we’re busy clinging to the ways that things have always been done. This season, you may receive invitations to explore, to try something different — this is a chance to discover something different, something unexpected. How could play and experimentation help you make meaningful change?
Your clever mind and sharp tongue can help you navigate even the stickiest of situations, and this season, you may find that you’re so comfortable in a particular mindset that you find it strangely difficult to see beyond those thought patterns and internal narratives. But you’re more flexible than most, and have the capacity to ask important questions, to adapt to your surroundings, to breathe into struggles rather than being suffocated by them. Where have you been limiting your own perspective, and how can you give yourself opportunities to learn? What idea might have reached its natural conclusion, and be pointing you to something new?
It’s hard to know when things are really finished, isn’t it? Not every story has a neat ending, a tidy conclusion — yet there are times when we feel ourselves settling into contentment, acknowledging an ending, celebrating our accomplishments. This season, give yourself permission to take pride in how far you’ve come, to honor the journey that you’ve been on. Even if you still think that you have lots to do and many more tasks to complete, reflect on where you’ve come from, and how much you’ve changed in the last month, year, decade. What do you love about yourself? And how hard did you have to work to become this person?
This is a season for devotion, for tending your efforts, for paying attention to what you care about and how that thing anchors and stabilizes you. Leo gets a lot of shit for craving the spotlight, but everyone longs for recognition in one way or another — and this season, consider the road you’re on, and where it’s taking you. How are you tending your own garden, and what is growing? Are the seeds that you planted becoming what you intended? If you find yourself off-course, give yourself permission to make adjustments rather than forcing yourself to pretend you want something other than what you set out to achieve. What are you making, and how does it measure up to your dreams?
Sometimes it’s fun to play the white knight: to be the savior, to be the one others turn to for support and care, to know how to fix challenges and lift people up. But other times, it can be exhausting to have stay optimistic, to feel like every problem is yours alone to solve. In this season of mutable water, consider the ways that you show yourself love, that you save yourself instead of always putting your energy into others. What would it look like to romance yourself, to fall in love with yourself? How can the knight of emotions teach you about honoring your own desires, instead of always putting other people first?
Sometimes when things feel challenging, scary, or even just uncertain, we cling to what we have even more tightly, afraid to let it out of our sight for a moment. But there’s a difference between setting healthy boundaries around our resources and refusing to share anything, and it takes wisdom, clarity, and humility to recognize the difference. This season may bring opportunities to grow what you have, to share and receive in equal measure — but that requires a light, loose grip, rather than locking things away. How do you balance generosity with protection? What does it look like to be honest about what you need, instead of worrying about what you have?
Remember MapQuest? We would print out instructions and then follow them as closely as possibly, calculating miles and hoping that we wouldn’t miss a turn — because any errors meant that we’d be stuck, uncertain of where to go next unless we could figure it out on our own. The knight of materials can be like this, setting a course in advance and then feeling unable to deviate from it in any way. But as you move into Pisces season, remember that you have the power to be flexible, to look up from your printed instructions, to adapt as needed if the path doesn’t follow the course you expected. Where are you being stubborn around a long-term goal?
We have the chance to make a lot of choices in our lives, to decide who we want to be and where we want to go and how we want to spend our time. But sometimes, things end no matter how hard we may fight to keep them — and the wisdom lies in recognizing when something has reached its natural conclusion, in allowing something to finish with dignity rather than keeping it around past its expiration date. It’s okay to grieve when something ends, rather than pushing to find that sunny optimism you’re so famous for. But it’s also okay to be relieved, even to feel a sense of pride in something something through to its finale. What are you ready to release? What does this ending make room for?
It’s easy to get so caught up in what we should do that we can sometimes lose sight of what we actually want to do. And wanting is not bad — it’s beautiful! Wanting something can help us recognize what we value, what we need, what helps us to feel wholly and truly ourselves. This season, give yourself some space to dream and play, to wonder and wander, to consider where you would go if all constraints were lifted and you were completely free to do as you please. What craving is beginning to reveal itself? What keeps popping into your imagination? And what would it look like to let that fantasy become reality?
We all go through patterns and cycles in our lives, but this season, you may be more aware of the Wheel’s turns than usual. Call it luck, call it destiny, or call it something completely different, but there are certain things that are within our control, and certain other things that will always be larger than us. Pisces is about dreaming and compassion and mystery, but it also gives us room to surrender to all that we cannot change — and as we shift from your season into this new one, give yourself permission to release the things you truly cannot control. What does it feel like to be at the mercy of the universe? Which patterns do you relish, and what do you learn from them?
Happy birthday, Pisces! While your season may be known for dreamy water and deep intuition, the ace of voices serves as a reminder that you possess a sharp mind, one capable of powerful observations and rich, necessary insights. Whether it’s a new idea or an important realization, you may find some of your perceptions shifting this season, helping you hone in on something you want to pursue, need to understand, or hope to accomplish. Pay attention to your surroundings, relationships, and decisions this season, and give yourself space to look at things from unexpected, even strange perspectives. What do you see when you keep your mind completely open? What is changing, and what might that mean for the ways you move through the world?

Aquarius is often described as the alien, the individual, the weirdo. They march to the beat of their own drum, walk their own path, see the world in their own way. Aquarius as a sign is associated with technology and innovation as well as forward-thinking, expansion, and shifts in perspective, all because of their capacity to see beyond what exists to everything else that is possible. But before getting too lost in the grandiosity of these descriptions, it’s important to remember is that Aquarius is fixed air: they don’t change on a whim or on an impulse, but rather as a deliberate action, an intentional and goal-oriented choice. Saturn-ruled Aquarius wants to understand the rules so that they can break them precisely, wants to know the score so that they can create a different kind of system. This isn’t a rebel without a cause, but rather, someone who wants to be as effective as possible in tearing something down.
Our major arcana archetype for Aquarius is the Star, a card that comes in the wake of the Tower’s chaos, destruction, and eventually, freedom. After shaking things up and forcing us out of our comfort zones, the Star can feel like the world settling after the storm, when we open our eyes, take in the wreckage, and evaluate what we have to work with. And while the Star represents a wide range of moments, we tend to associate this card with the immediate aftermath of the Tower: recovery, healing, and hope for the future.
But these words can feel bland without context, without clarity. Because the important truth is this: the Star isn’t blind optimism, isn’t denial of what’s happened or is happening, isn’t naively clinging to some vague future where everything magically works itself out. It isn’t a refusal to engage, or stubbornly clinging to the past. Instead the Star represents a fresh start, a new hope, a willingness to believe that we are capable and worthy, that our dreams have value, that we can achieve what we truly want. Aquarius doesn’t want to waste time on something that doesn’t matter. Instead, this is an opportunity to clarify and analyze, so that our movement can have purpose, and our actions can have meaning.
It takes a lot of courage, a lot of strength, to hope. Faith isn’t something that just appears of out nowhere, but instead is something that we must cultivate, must choose, must believe in. Hope requires us to look outside of what we know, what we can prove, and instead make space for possibility, opportunity, potential. In stepping into the energy of the Star, we offer ourselves the gift of maybe, of wishing, of a new kind of future. What are we ready to believe in? Where do we have the capacity for optimism? How are we dreaming, big or small? And in letting our trust in the future build, in refusing to let the pessimism or narrow-mindedness of others impact our convictions, which new pathways can we build together, that benefit everyone?
After all, isn’t cultivating collective hope, in 2023, the most magical kind of rule-breaking?
In this season of Aquarius, remember the Star’s capacity for faith. Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. In traditional astrology, Aquarius is ruled by Saturn, planet of time and boundaries, while modern astrologers also see Uranus, planet of liberation and freedom, as an additional ruler. If you know your natal placements for these planets you can also plug them into these template for a more complete picture of your season.

Five of Ripiena / Cups. It may feel this season like you’re a bit more tender than usual, discovering or sorting through a relationship or revelation that leaves you feeling sensitive. Five is a number of change and breakthroughs, but it also means looking at something clearly, seeing it in a new way that reveals something we may not have noticed before: and when it comes to matters of the heart, this kind of intensive analysis can unveil hurts that we may not have even realized were present. Be gentle with yourself this season, and give yourself the space to process whatever emotions come forward. What are you realizing about yourself? Where might change be necessary for growth?
Eight of Ripiena / Cups. There are times when we can see that something important isn’t working anymore, times when no matter what we do or how hard we try, something is simply broken beyond repair. And while you are known for your devotion and loyalty, it’s important to know when to cut your losses and prioritize your own wellbeing, when something has run its course. You are allowed to feel safe, loved, valued, and desired, and if you aren’t, it may be time to make some adjustments. Pay careful attention to your needs this season, and where they are or aren’t being met. Is it time to leave something behind, to give yourself the space to explore a new path?
The Pope. Traditions can hold a lot of value, but when we cling to them too tightly, they can start to feel restrictive, forcing us only to grow in certain directions rather than flower freely. It’s perfectly okay to want to do things the way that they have always been done, but it’s also important to grant ourselves freedom where we’re craving it, to not restrict ourselves only to all that has come before. This season, consider which structures and systems are giving your efforts shape, and where they might be holding you back or getting in your way. You’re so curious, so innovative, and if you’ve been craving a change, this may be the season to consider what that would really look like. How can you channel the energy of Aquarius and break some rules?
Six of Minuta / Pentacles. You’re known for being caring and protective, Cancer, and this season, you may feel a desire to nest, share, and offer generosity to those in your inner circle. There’s something deeply magical about reciprocity, about asking for what you need and offering resources up freely in equal measure, so consider what you have to give this season, and where you may be craving care yourself. What would it look like to allow your love to flow freely, or to let others share their bounty with you? What do you need to feel safe, and how do you let others provide for you?
King of Minuta / Pentacles. While this season is one of fixed air, your fixed fire often burns bright and hot, lighting up the world for all to enjoy. But this season, pay attention to the assets, structures, relationships, and places that help you feel safe, grounded, and supported in even your biggest dreams and endeavors. You may have access to more resources that you realize, but they won’t grow and thrive if you don’t tend to them. How can you invest in your own legacy, and lift up everyone around you? What do you need in order to feel like you can keep going?
Seven of Ripiena / Cups. If you’re someone that often feels like they have to be tending to every last detail, making sure that everything is perfect and finished, this season I would like to invite you to set that burden down for a beat. For you, Aquarius season is about dreaming: about looking at the possibilities, letting your imagination run wild, and considering all of the different futures that stretch out before you. This could be on a major scale or about something much smaller, but either way, invite fantasy to take up some room in your life. What do your dreams look like if you stop restricting them?
Knight of Ripiena / Cups. This season may bring opportunities for you to choose with your heart instead of your head; to consider the possibilities that emerge when you are vulnerable rather than timid. Knights always encourage us to think about how an element is balanced in our lives, and with the suit of cups, we explore our tendencies around matters of the heart, including relationships, intuition, faith, love, and chosen family. When does your affection naturally flow, and when do you clam up, hold back? Where might you have a chance to share a deeper piece of yourself with someone you love and trust?
Five of Lunga / Swords. It may seem like things are harder than they need to be this season, with conflict emerging in unexpected places or communication bringing up friction points that you hadn’t noticed before. Rather than going into these situations bracing for a fight, slow down and consider your truth, and how your unique individual perspective shapes your understanding of a situation, relationship, or complication. If conversations or challenges bring up new revelations, you may have opportunities for discovery and expansion, rather than endless friction. What information is emerging, and what will you do with it?
Six of Ripiena / Cups. Aquarius season is often about moving forward, and you’re so great at that, letting your natural fire and enthusiasm and curiosity bring you in whatever direction your heart desires. But you may find that this season your gaze actually turns backwards, into the recent or distant past, as you reflect on where you started, where you’ve been, and how you’ve changed. Our roots don’t have to define us, but they can offer deeper insights into who we are and why our blossoms and fruit look the way that they do. How do you take responsibility for the choices you’ve made? What can your past teach you about your future?
Queen of Minuta / Pentacles. If you’re the kind of Capricorn who is always looking forward, making plans, building structures, and setting limits, you might think of the element of earth as chiefly one of responsibility and focus. But earth, and the suit of pentacles, is also about pleasure, comfort, safety, and satisfaction, and this queen deeply understands the power that comes with being absolutely, completely present in a joyful moment. This season, balance all of that hard work with the gift of recreation, play, and wonder. Revel in beauty, celebrate the little wins, and delight in the lushness of life. How often do you actually stop and smell the roses?
Queen of Ripiena / Cups. Happy birthday, Aquarius! So often you get painted as a weirdo, an alien, someone that is on their own path to their own private destination. But you’re also devoted to the collective, and this season, you may find opportunities to invest more fully in your communities, chosen families, and other people that you love. Pay attention to chances to deepen relationships, to listen to your intuition, to honor perceptions and revelations. What does it mean to open your heart with intention? How often do you show real vulnerability, and what would it feel like to practice this sensation?
Ace of Minuta / Pentacles. For you, Aquarius season may hold a lot of promise, particularly in the realms of health, wealth, career, or other kinds of resources. Be on the lookout for opportunities to plant seeds, to start new projects, to invest in your future in tangible, accessible ways. What kinds of promises are you making to yourself and those around you right now? What are you ready to devote yourself to in the long-term, even if it means making some adjustments to existing responsibilities? What kind of life are you trying to build for yourself, and what steps can you take this season to begin that journey forward?
This season’s tarotscopes feature the Fyodor Pavlov Tarot and The Compendium of Constellations.
On this first day of winter, the sun moves from fiery Sagittarius into the cardinal earth of Capricorn, a sign that often gets described as ambitious, success-oriented, serious, focused, and driven. And while Capricorn can be all of those things, sometimes it’s nice to think beyond the lens of work-obsessed capitalism or virtues tied to wealth. Capricorn wants to set things in motion that will grow and thrive for the long-haul, systems and projects and ambitions that will eventually become a lasting legacy to support and sustain them. This is a sign with vision for the future, who can see possibilities within existing structures, who isn’t afraid to think big and pursue everything they crave to feel safe, powerful, and influential.
What does it mean to plant seeds with intention, to set things in motion that have space to expand? Earth as an element craves growth and stability, bringing a responsible and patient intentionality to efforts and ideas. But there can also be a tendency for earth to stick with what is known, to retreat to the familiar, to be slow to embrace new possibilities or opportunities — and I think that this aspect of earth is one of the reasons that the Order of the Golden Dawn associated Capricorn with one of the most feared and misunderstood archetypes in the deck: the Devil.
When we allow ourselves to think beyond Christian morality and puritanical ethics, the Devil becomes so much more than vices, reckless behaviors, and old patterns. This isn’t a card that we need to fear, but it is one that we can greatly benefit from working with. The Devil invites us to consider where we have felt restricted, and to be honest with ourselves about where that restriction is coming from. Where do our hands feel tied, and why? What is holding us back from deeper experimentation, richer play, a more powerful sense of connection? What have we been avoiding looking at fully, clearly, honestly? How might we be getting in our own way? And in establishing new objectives and building on old plans, where might we be served by exploration, instead of retreat?
Put another way: the Devil (card 15 / 1+5 = 6) shares the same numerological fingerprint as the Lovers (card 6). The number 6 is associated with choices and responsibilities, with community and partnership, with understanding how our relationships and actions ripple out into the world. There is richness here, but only if we allow ourselves to truly experience it. Where are you in your personal journeys and cycles? What have you chosen to invest your time, energy, inspiration, and other resources into, and how can you protect those initiatives? How can you stay connected to those you love, to the activities and desires that motivate you, inspire you, remind you of what matters most?
In this season of Capricorn, practice balancing your ambitions with honoring your needs, both physical and otherwise. What are you striving for? How can you build a solid future while also taking joy in your present? What boundaries are you setting, and which are you ready to adjust? Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, planet of time, restriction, and authority, so if you know your Saturn placement you can include it in this reading for a more complete picture of your season.

As always with these tarot readings, take what you need and leave what you don’t. Happy Capricorn season!
As a fellow cardinal sign, Capricorn season may have you chomping at the bit to start new things, put new ideas into play, tackle new ambitions and projects. And with fire at your fingertips and earth beneath your feet, this time of year may feel particularly energetic for you. The page of wands is a student of passion, someone who loves to feel sparks all around them. How can you explore new mediums, make space for new forms of inspiration? What motivates you, and how can you channel that into new pathways? What are you discovering about the ways your own internal fires are lit and sustained?
As an earth-ruled sign associated with Venus, you may find this new season to feel particularly joyful, abundant, and community-oriented, as the Empress is a figure of expansion, communication, expression, and generosity. You love your creature comforts, and this is a beautiful time to indulge, taking pleasure where you find it and bringing those you love into those activities too. How does being connected with your favorite people inspire you, encourage you? Where do you find support in expressing yourself? What has been growing within you, that you may be ready to share with the world?
Been burning the candle at both ends? You’re great at juggling lots of projects, but this season may be a good opportunity to assess where your inspiration is still going strong, and where you may be running out of gas. Sometimes our old patterns for creativity, motivation, and collaboration grow stale, and we have to reassess what is truly lighting us up. Do you need a break? Are you craving something new and fresh to get your energy up again? Is there a project that’s sucking you dry rather than giving you joy? How can you adjust your priorities and responsibilities to give you more time for what you love, and for what you need to truly thrive?
You’re so good at moving to the beat of your own drum, and it may feel this season that you need to stand up for what you believe in, what you’re working on, what your vision for the future looks like. Whether you’re starting something new or breathing new life into an existing project, pay attention to the people that stand by your side, and the obstacles that may come into your path. What are you willing to fight for? What motivates your devotion for the long-haul? Why does what you’re doing matter to you so much, and how can you build in ways to support your efforts so that you reach the finish line?
There may be opportunities for you to open that brave heart of yours this season, making space for a new relationship, dream, or belief to come in. Twos are the number of choice and balance, duality and opposition, so pay attention to any hesitations, concerns, or questions that hold you back from true vulnerability. How willing are you to let others see you? Who or what is trying to take up more space in your life? What are your emotions centering around, and how can you be deliberate in the ways that you process, analyze, and express those big feelings?
While this card has a reputation for dreamy mystery, confusing fantasy, and grappling with the wild unknown, numerologically the Moon archetype is the same as your birth card, the Hermit. Both of these 9 cards hold a wise philosophical energy that balances out the more detached sense of something ending, so as you move into this season of cardinal earth, pay attention to what you may be wrapping up, and where you still crave answers or exploration. What is piquing your curiosity, and where do you feel satisfied? How do you understand your own longings, and where might they be a means to an end? What clarity is there to be found within your fears and desires?
You may find a new sense of hope this season, with fresh starts and possibilities all around. Whether you’ve recently moved through a major shift or you’ve been dreaming of something different, pay attention to those internal discoveries, and don’t be afraid to trust your instincts. There is magic to be found, if you’re willing to sit in stillness and welcome it with open arms. What is opening up within you? How can you make space for recovery and awareness? How are you showing yourself love and kindness right now?
It may feel like your mind is stuck this season, whirling endlessly on a particular issue without gaining any real ground. Sometimes obsessing over something is how you figure it out, but other times, those cyclical thoughts can leave you scrambling for truth, unable to figure out which way is up. Give yourself the gift of rest this season, taking opportunities to see any struggles, victories, or dilemmas through a new set of eyes. How can you get out of your own way? Where is your perspective too narrow? Who do you trust to help you see a challenge or obstacle more clearly?
Something big and beautiful may be coming to an close for you this season, calling for celebration, joy, and much-needed rest. But this archetype can sometimes leave us restless or uncertain, particularly if the journey that we’ve been on is something that doesn’t have an obvious or clear conclusion, ending, or finish line. What have you been working towards, that you’ve fully achieved? Where is pride and satisfaction bubbling up within you? How can you take a few beats to honor all that you’ve accomplished, even if it’s hard to consider it finished?
Happy birthday, Capricorn! Your season is so often about looking forward and seizing opportunities, which doesn’t always mean that your efforts will immediately result in success — sometimes you have to keep your eyes fixed on the horizon and wait for that ship to come in. But this card isn’t just about future success; it’s also an opportunity to celebrate what you’ve already done, and to continue finding joy and abundance in your present. How can you balance ambition with revelry? What are you already proud of? What would it feel like to trust that good things are already at your fingertips, and that something even better is on its way?
This season of fixed earth holds some sweet tenderness for you, as you may find opportunities for play, connection, and healing. It often feels more comfortable for you to move through the world rationally, analytically, but you may find a lot of value in tapping into your emotions this season, thinking about where you’ve come from, what shaped you, and what joy really looks like for you. How often are you vulnerable, not only with others but also with yourself? What have you been longing for, and how do you care for that desire? How can you be gentle with yourself?
Your mutable water may feel at odds with the cardinal earth of this season, but as the sun moves into Capricorn, pay attention to ways that you can protect your mind and create intentional spaces for rest. You don’t always have to be building or giving or planning or dreaming or supporting or moving. You deserve rest, breaks, opportunities to let your heart and body heal. How can you intentionally protect your peace? What do you need in order to feel safe slowing down or stopping for a time?
This season’s tarotscopes feature The OK Tarot and The Compendium of Constellations.
After the intensity and transformation of Scorpio season, Sagittarius can feel like a warm, welcome invitation to movement, freedom, and expansion. Our sign of mutable fire, Sagittarius helps us to find the magic in our present, to see endless possibilities in any direction we turn our gaze. If Scorpio season felt like it encouraged you to tunnel underground, to uncover rot and leave behind things that are no longer growing, Sagittarius may help drag you back out into the sunshine of a bright new morning.
The correspondences created by the Order of the Golden Dawn pair Sagittarius with Temperance, an archetype that may feel at odds with this freedom-loving, philosophical sign. Temperance is often associated with ideas like moderation, sobriety, and self-control: finding the balance between death and rebirth, honoring what we have endured while being brave enough to still strive for something new. But beyond themes of restriction, Temperance also points us to luck, divine timing, those happy coincidences that feel charged and potent. This is an energy of expectation: not in a selfish, demanding, entitled way, but rather a trust that what is to be will be. Where Scorpio reveals truth, Sagittarius empowers us to pursue it, to believe in it, to celebrate it, and to accept it.
What have you been discovering about yourself, either through times of sorrow or times of true joy? Which roads have been opening up before you, and how are they inspiring you to perhaps try something new, something unexpected? Where have you been making something overly complicated, rather than getting straight to the heart of it? Sagittarius is a truth-seeker, a boundary-breaker, an explorer that is excited about whatever they may find around the corner. How can you embrace this energy, even if there are aspects about it that you may not fully understand? What are you afraid of? Temperance isn’t a scold or a nag, trying to restrict your fun — instead, Temperance wants you to honor your deepest longings, to take what you’ve been learning and apply it in new ways. Who do you know yourself to be? And what are you still learning about yourself?
In this season of Sagittarius, give yourself room to play, to explore, to make mistakes and discoveries in equal measure. Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, planet of abundance and generosity, so if you know your Jupiter placement, you can plug it into this spread too for a more complete picture of your Sagittarius season.

As powerful as it can be to reflect internally on who you are, what you need, and what you’re craving, sometimes we see ourselves in new ways by revealing our hearts to others. Pay special attention to your community this season, practicing intentional vulnerability rather than always putting on a brave face or facing challenges alone. How do you let others see you, support you, love you? How does recognizing and accepting that love help you show yourself more grace? And how does your chosen family empower you to be brave in your more personal endeavors, even when you are reluctant to share your fears?
There can be such safety and comfort in spending time with those we love, but there is also a very special kind of security that comes in deeply, truly loving ourselves. You may reach new depths of personal generosity this season, finding both contentment and wonder in acknowledging the dreams you have achieved and the wishes you still hold on to. What makes you feel truly loved, both externally and internally? How are you sensitive to your own needs, and how does it feel to attend to them? Where are you still longing for something, and what would it look like to give yourself full permission to pursue it?
You may find yourself stepping into new positions of power, authority, and capability this season, owning your skills and not being afraid to take up space. You are so full of ideas and information, but when you take the time to ground those flashes of insight into long-term goals and ambitions, the sky is truly the limit in terms of what you can accomplish. Give yourself permission to keep things simple, to delineate clear times of work and play and rest, and see what happens. When do you feel the most empowered, the most certain? What helps you feel safe and supported, even in times of exploration?
Sagittarius season may feel like the time to lean fully into your fire, carrying momentum from previous seasons forward and celebrating how close you are to your goals. But you have a lot of deep wisdom, Cancer, and this season may be more about slowing down rather than speeding up. There’s no shame in self-care, and if you’ve been feeling like you’re burning the candle on both ends, give yourself time to rest, recover, and make a plan for finishing strong rather than forcing yourself to keep running on fumes. Where might support be available to you? How can you prioritize your own well being?
Your natural sense of adventure and curiosity may feel heightened this season, particularly in the realms of intellectual exploration and research. Something is opening up for you, an opportunity or discovery that may be captivating your imagination — so this is your invitation to lean all the way the fuck in. What are you learning? What are you realizing you don’t know? How is what you’re finding creating new insights or perceptions within you? What are you recognizing about your own understanding of truth, and how might that create a new path for you?
It may feel like everything is clicking into place for you this season — roads opening, obstacles clearing, goals clarifying. This energy doesn’t always last for long, but is intensely joyful and powerful while it’s present. You’re known for your care and attention to detail, but if it feels like you can move forward without hesitation, do it! For you, Sagittarius season can be a time of intensive creativity, exciting collaboration, and rapid progress. What does it feel like to trust your instincts? How do you experience fiery passion in your work, play, rest, and unexpected adventures?
There’s a rich spirit of collaboration in the air for you this season, as you may find your creative resources and excitement about working with others heightened. Different people have different talents to offer, but those gifts don’t minimize your own — rather, this season it may feel like every new spark grows into a beautiful flame, creating new inspiration for everything you touch. Pay attention to opportunities to work alongside other people, or to bring those you trust into your ongoing work. Where have you been craving growth and expansion? How are you expressing yourself? What can you celebrate?
This season may feel steady and joyful, as you settle into a beautiful rhythm with friends, chosen family, collaborators, and partners. Community is what we make of it, and in being willing to be vulnerable with those you trust, you may feel the magic of equal exchanges of energy, with cups being emptied and filled in beautiful synchronicity. Rather than letting yourself be overwhelmed, lean into the flow. Let your cups overflow with wonder, magic, and the joy of being loved. Who do you trust with your heart and soul? What does it feel like to let yourself be seen?
Happy birthday, Sagittarius! There may be a lot of hopeful optimism in your world right now, in spite of how complicated things may seem — but as we move into your season, give yourself opportunities to break free of old restrictions and being creating new rules for yourself, ones that empower you rather than hold you back. Boundaries can protect us, but also need to be adjusted periodically, and as you learn more about your own needs and wants, you may need to shift some of your internal and external rules around. Which tough questions have you been answering? What is your focus now? And how can you make some changes that empower that journey forward?
You’re often known for your ambition, drive, and focus — but this season, I want to encourage you to play, to wander, to get caught up in daydreams and artistic fantasies. What were you like as a child? What do you long to explore, and where do you let your imagination take you? How often do you give yourself permission to “waste time” rather than obsessing over productivity? This season, loosen the reins on your internal control and see what happens when you wander through your own mind and heart. What is opening up within you? Which dreams are revealing themselves?
There is a spark growing within you, a new idea or ambition that is making itself known — but as tempting as it can be to dream big and rush forward, this season is asking you to balance ambition and optimism with care, intentionality, and purpose. Take a beat to figure out what it is you truly want, and to make sure that you’re choosing this path, rather than getting swept up by the passion and excitement growing within you. What are you ready to dedicate yourself to? Where does it make sense to hone your focus? And how can you make sure that this new dream succeeds in the long-term?
This season you may find opportunities to let yourself shine, to integrate multiple aspects of yourself, to share who you are with those that have only ever seen specific parts of you. There is such magic, such abundance within you, and as we move into fiery Sagittarius, let yourself be as brilliant and glorious as you can, rather than hiding all that you are from the world. What are you celebrating, and how can you bring others into that joy? After several seasons of examination and contemplation, how are you ready to reveal yourself in all of your fullness?
This season’s tarotscopes feature The Marigold Tarot and The Celestial Bodies Oracle.
Here in the northern hemisphere, we are now firmly in autumn. As the sun moves into Scorpio, as the temperatures drop and the air gets crisper, sharper, nature is reminding us of the power, the magic, the necessity of death: trees and plants moving into the next part of their cycle, letting leaves change and drop to the ground, fertilizing the soil with their rot and decay. It may sound grim to paint autumn with this particular brush, but it’s a potent reminder that death is natural, normal, and necessary.
After the light, balanced, value-focused energy of Libra’s cardinal air, after spending time considering the world around us and our responsibilities to it with Justice, Scorpio and Death bring an intensive energy of examination, release, and transformation. Fixed water is still and deep, offering us a chance to sink into ourselves, to honor intuition and hold space for mystery, to recognize what is essential to sustain and what is important to surrender. And in the same way, Scorpio has no time for bullshit, instead urging us to be honest with ourselves about what we really want and need, and what we are ready to let go of. What have you been clinging to, a dream or desire that belonged to an old version of yourself? What change is already occurring, that you may be fighting instead of embracing?
Death, as card thirteen, is numerologically associated with the number four (13 / 1+3=4) and the archetype of the Emperor. As chaotic and terrifying as endings often feel, it can be helpful to remember that this is not a card of random change or sudden, disastrous loss: instead, it’s an inevitable end, part of the natural cycle of things. Growth is not an endless, effortless trajectory, nor should it be. We cannot always be planting seeds without a harvest, without removing the weeds and rot that is clogging up our neatly arranged rows. We must reap what we sow, must clear out the fruit along with the overgrowth, must say goodbye to something that is already lost so that we can clear rooms in our heads and hearts for something new.
Half of our cards for this season are major arcana archetypes, which feels apt: Scorpio is a time of deep awareness, powerful transformation, and the potential for lasting, necessary change. In this season of Scorpio, honor what may be shifting, both within and around you, and give yourself the space to process whatever feelings come forward rather than trying to maintain the status quo. Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. Scorpio is traditionally ruled by Mars, planet of passion and pursuit, but some modern astrologers also tie this sign to Pluto, planet of transformation and the subconscious, so you can plug your placements for either or both planet into this spread too for a more complete picture of your season.

After moving through a cycle of surrender and change in Libra season, Scorpio season may bring power and possibility, offering new roads forward and a sense of confidence, joy, and curiosity. You are so wildly capable, Aries, with fire burning in your veins and the courage to tackle whatever ideas come your way. This season, give yourself the space to explore inspiration, to consider what has captured your fancy, to dream big and often about where you want to go and who you want to become. You are incredibly well-resourced, perhaps even more than you may realize, so don’t let anxieties hold you back from identifying what it is you want to pursue. Where are you going? And what can you do right now to set yourself up for a creative, joyful future?
If last season was all about rest, recovery, and restoration, this season may feel a bit jarring in its energy, bringing sudden change and an unexpected sensation of instability. When the Tower comes, it is usually a call to pay attention to something that you’ve been willfully ignoring — and while this can be a frightening card to see, take heart that you are more than strong enough to get through it. What have you been afraid to examine, unwilling to prioritize? What is shifting, and how can you care for yourself through the shift? Be gentle with yourself, but don’t hide from the truth: this is an opportunity to reclaim something you may have forgotten, a chance to clarify what you want and go after it. Where are you experiencing much-needed freedom?
Last season may have felt intense, exhausting, or difficult to move through, with changes happening all around and a necessary shift taking up a lot of your energy. But as you move into Scorpio season, you may find yourself slowing down, seeking balance, walking the middle path. Temperance is all about finding alchemy within ourselves, honoring the disparate pieces of our spirit that make sense to us. You’re not afraid to walk your own unique path, to pursue the ideas and information that sparks your curiosity — but as you continue to learn and grow, pay attention to the through lines that link your many skills, interests, and ambitions. What underlying joys can you find that tie everything together? How can you find clarity in looking at all that you love, all that you dream of?
This Scorpio season, you may find yourself carrying forward the lessons from Libra — and that’s because I drew the same card for you that I did last season. The three of rings, otherwise known as the three of pentacles, is a card of growth, intentionality, cooperation, and resources. It speaks to expansion and collaboration, indicating that something that you’ve been working on is starting to show real potential, that things are clicking into place and new people may be offering their wisdom, resources, and support for your continued work. Whatever has been coming together will continue to feel joyful and exciting, so keep following the path you’re on, and remember that while what you’re doing may take time, it’s worth the effort. What are you investing in?
You may have felt like you’ve been moving through seasons of creative flow and joyful inspiration, with your passions stabilizing and big dreams starting to come together in a beautiful way. In this season of Scorpio, you may have new opportunities for leadership, command, and structure, stepping into your power in a way that helps you understand what you need to do next. Even the best projects don’t come together by magic and dreaming alone: they require hard work, elbow grease, intentionality, and purpose, all things that you have at your fingertips. What are you doing to ensure that your work has focus, milestones, protection? How can you make a plan for your future, one that ensures that everything you’re doing has a clear path to success?
Whatever big flash of insight or clarifying idea you experienced last season may be creating a lot of new possibilities for you, as Scorpio season brings creativity, support, and a sense of purpose. Wands are the suit of fire, passion, motivation, and desire, and this card beautifully balances the magic in creativity with your own careful intentionality and eye for detail. In this new season, give yourself the space to celebrate all that you’re accomplishing, even as you may still be looking ahead to future obstacles, resource needs, or potential pitfalls. How can you be present in your joy? What is coming together, and how does that help you consider the directions your work may take next?
Sweet Libra, this season may bring a sharp insight or important bit of information that is invaluable for you to receive — but there’s a possibility that this experience may not be pleasant. The three of swords can be difficult in its precision, bringing feelings of betrayal, hurt, or distrust. Yet if we can move with an open mind, if we can recognize the necessity of this truth, it can help us to see ourselves and our present more clearly. Speak with care rather than speed, and if you find yourself feeling extra tender or sensitive, show yourself grace rather than pushing yourself to “get over it” as quickly as possible. Where are you learning new things? How can startling truths help us to adjust our efforts or expectations?
Happy birthday, Scorpio! As we move into your season, it may feel like you’re stuck in place, not necessarily seeing progress in the way that you expected or hoped for. This can be a discouraging sensation, leading to frustration or disappointment that you aren’t exactly where you’d intended to be. But sometimes, being forced to slow down or even stop altogether is exactly what we need in order to see an essential new perspective on a relationship, ambition, situation, or shift. Instead of struggling to push forward in spite of obstacles, instead surrender to the moment, allowing yourself to find the truths revealed when you look at something clearly. What are you discovering? Where have you needed a new viewpoint?
Your natural fire and sense of passionate, powerful curiosity may feel heightened this season, particularly on the heels of a time of clarity, purpose, and strategic shifts. As you move into Scorpio season, this is a chance to embrace your boldness, your ambition, your courage. Creativity is crackling at your fingertips, and you may find yourself knowing exactly what you want, and seeing a clear path towards achieving it. Enjoy this feeling of fire! You are so open to new experiences and ideas, but this is a chance to own your creative authority, to remember how skilled and experienced you already are. How are you becoming a leader? What are you ready to pursue with everything you have? And who might be in your orbit that is looking to you for inspiration, support, or encouragement?
Just like last season, you may have major opportunities for emotional, intuitive leadership this season. And while Libra’s clarifying, balanced air may have felt more comfortable than Scorpio’s watery depths, this is a time for you to embrace your emotions, and to stop trying to control how you respect to situations, conversations, or revelations. Queens balance artistry with structure, creating safe spaces to explore, dream, and connect — so if this season feels challenging for you, remember your communities, your boundaries, the ways that you have already discovered help you examine any sensitivities in a protected environment. What is bubbling up within you? Who, or what, can help you honor those emotions instead of stifling them?
After last season’s rushes of fire and inspiration, this season may find you slowing way down, retreating and protecting, eager to examine your most hidden corners away from the public eye. You may be at the end of a cycle, and in these periods of metamorphosis, there are opportunities for reflection, awareness, and giving back. Pay attention to what you discover in these quiet moments, and remember that solitude is not the same as complete isolation. How can you be deliberate in your explorations, thorough in your internal investigations? Who do you share these intimate discoveries with? And how can you prepare yourself for the change that you are in the midst of?
It may have felt like you spent a lot of last season examining your resources, considering your path forward, and making adjustments to help you reach your goals — and this season brings the same energy. Like Cancer, I pulled the same card for you in both Libra and Scorpio, indicating that you may have more discoveries to make, may need to look more deeply within to figure out where you want to go next. You’re so good at dreaming beautiful dreams, but chances are that you need to clarify what it is you want more fully. Don’t be afraid to put pen to paper, to speak your desire aloud, to make a real, tangible plan for achieving the life that you want. Where are you along your path of ambition? How can you make adjustments that get you closer to your goals?
This season’s tarotscopes feature The Spacious Tarot and The Spacious Tarot Expansion Pack.
Today the sun moves into the cardinal air of Libra, officially ushering us into autumn. Air as an element is perceptive and forward-thinking, curious and eager, associated with the mind and the intellect as well as communication, information, and collaboration. And when we combine the clarity of air, the desire to analyze and understand, with Libra’s cardinal energy that activates and initiates, we find a sign that is associated with balance, harmony, perspective, and equilibrium — this is the desire to share equally, to ensure that everyone has what they need to thrive, to hear every voice and uplift those that are consistently pushed down.
It makes sense, then, that the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn would assign Libra to the eleventh archetype in the Fool’s journey: Justice. Justice follows the Wheel of Fortune, a card tied to destiny and fate, luck and karma, the things that are within and outside of our control. And after taking time apart with the Hermit, after recognizing the larger forces in the universe with the Wheel, Justice wants us to intentionally engage with society, to recognize the ways that our personal ideals might play out in our communities. But more broadly than that, Justice wants us to consider where those ideals come from, what they mean, how they manifest, and what they set into motion. How does what we believe shape our choices, impact the possibilities that we’re even willing to consider? What do we think is fair, and how does that contribute to what we do, what we say, where we go?
Fairness is a complicated idea, one that different people with different life experiences might perceive… well, differently. We all have our own unique experiences, which shape our perspectives — and the ways that we’ve been mistreated, or have lived with privilege, impact what feels fair to us, and what doesn’t. What seems fair, reasonable, even generous to one might feel wildly inequitable, even discriminatory, to another. Justice and the tarot aren’t asking us to independently solve the problems of the world, to rebuild society from the ground up, to be responsible for every single thing that feels uneven or unbalanced. Rather, this card wants us to interrogate our own ideals, to unpack our assumptions and biases, to consider how our theories play out in practical ways.
There’s a difference between bad-faith, both-sides arguments and genuinely wanting to listen and learn from people who have lived an alternative experience than you have. Justice seeks clarity, understanding, and strives to build systems of fairness and mutual care out of the values of the many. It’s in recognizing what we agree with, and what we don’t, that our ideals become clarified. It’s in participating with society that we feel in our bones what matters to us, and what doesn’t.
In this season of Libra, remember the importance of balance, of honoring multiple perspectives, of holding space for the different needs of others without sacrificing your own ethics. Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. Libra is ruled by Venus, planet of relationships and beauty as well as unification, harmony, and values, so if you know your natal Venus placement you can also include the card for that sign for a more complete picture of your Libra season.

As always with these tarot readings, take what you need and leave what you don’t. Happy Libra season!
After working through some essential truths last season, this new time in Libra may feel like the start of a new rebirth cycle. And while your natural fire and confidence can bring you through challenges with ease, sometimes slowing down and recognizing the shift that you are in the midst of can feel complicated. As you move through a change and step into a new beginning, give yourself time to process emotions, rest, and honor what is passing, and what is within reach. What version of yourself are you leaving behind?
This season, you may find yourself craving new boundaries of protection, particularly when it comes around your ideas, truths, and discoveries. Rest is essential for deep processing, and if last season required you to stand up for your beliefs or your work in an intensive way, do yourself a favor and let things slow down for a time, bringing much-needed clarity and recovery. This season of air could bring opportunities to define what you want to work towards, so pay attention to your instincts, and take comfort where you can. What is sharpening within you?
Some unexpected and rapid shifts may find you this season, Gemini — but rather than allowing yourself to get overwhelmed, this is the perfect chance to find freedom with the change. Sometimes we get so stuck in one pathway that the universe finds ways to shake us loose, so fly free, and take in the view from a new perspective. And while this can be scary, it can also be joyful, an opportunity to leave something that wasn’t working behind and try something different. What has been cracking beneath your feet, that you’re ready to move beyond? Where has your curiosity been overwhelming you, and how can you chase that new idea to somewhere different?
This is a season for grounding and strategy, but as you think big and let your dreams expand into the world, don’t lose sight of joy, celebration, and magic. Your work is starting to gain traction, things are building and growing, and there’s real wonder in seeing things fall into place. Pay attention to the resources at your disposal, the people that have offered assistance or support, the ways that you feel both grounded and eager to keep pushing boundaries. What is growing, both within and around you? How can you keep nurturing the seeds that you’ve planted?
Your courageous fire may feel particularly joyful this season, Leo, as you start laying the creative groundwork for something new, something that excites and invigorates you. But as easy as it can be to get caught up in passion and rush forward as quickly as you can, this season may create necessary stopping points, inviting you to do more planning and strategy that you might otherwise be inclined to do. While it might seem frustrating in the moment to have to slow down, take the note, and give yourself a chance to anticipate and dream. Where is your fire leading you? And how can you ensure that nothing stands in your way?
As your season comes to a close, a sharp new insight or powerful truth may flash into your mind, allowing you to see something from a different and essential perspective. Sometimes this kind of clarity can be overwhelming, and other times it can be exciting, invigorating — but no matter how your emotions develop, don’t be afraid to start investigating, to open your mind and see what else clicks into place. This may bring an opportunity for a new intellectual or insightful adventure, so pay attention and see where you’re drawn. What are you discovering?
Happy birthday, Libra! As we move into your season, you may find your head and your heart at odds, with your mind taking in all of the possibilities while your more tender self craves stability, boundaries, or structure in relationships. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to step back from vulnerability, especially if you’re focusing on more intellectual pursuits — but make sure that you don’t cut yourself off from your emotions so much that you lose sight of them. How can you balance sensitivity and vulnerability with perception, equality, and movement?
If last season felt like you were hovering on the edge of burnout, pushing yourself hard towards a finish line that was just out of reach, this season may feel more stable, comfortable, and joyful. Take the opportunity to rest and celebrate your achievements, even if you still feel like things are in flux — Libra season for you will likely be a time of security and certainty, so give yourself permission to relax, slow down, and seek pleasure. What makes you feel safe? What is satisfying?
While fire signs are generally associated with passion, energy, and courage, you also carry a lot of curiosity within your spirit — and in this season of Libra, you may find yourself taking charge of an intellectual pursuit, leading the way towards a more balanced and equitable path. People look to you for guidance, suggestions, and advice, so don’t be afraid to flex your intelligence and experience in making decisions. Just don’t lose sight of your brilliant fire, and your ability to collaborate. Where are you making strides?
As a fellow cardinal sign, Libra’s clear focus and ability to parse nuance may feel both inviting and frustrating — but this season is calling you to tap into your sense of intuition, to trust your heart, and to let emotions play a role in how you make decisions. You have a soft side that you may not always let other see, and there may be opportunities for relational leadership, guidance, and mentoring this season, chances for you to let the people you love into those more secret parts of you. How can you balance your grounded pragmatism with true vulnerability?
Last season’s intense focus on daily effort and slow improvement has paved the way for a brilliant flash of inspiration, one that may light you up and leave you with incredible amounts of energy for the long journey ahead. This is such an exciting feeling, that of endless possibility and powerful passion — so rather than trying to immediately organize this energy into something practical and long-term, give yourself permission instead to brainstorm, dream, imagine. What is lighting you up? How are you ready to express yourself?
Last season may have pushed you to make an important change in your emotional boundaries or a relationship, and as we move into this time of Libra, remember that there’s no need to rush growth. Take the time to evaluate where you are, not just in terms of emotions but also in terms of physical needs, comforts, and securities. If it feels like you’re on track, you may enjoy making more detailed plans for the future — but if recent shifts have also altered your priorities, give yourself permission to adjust. What are you really working towards? How are you going to get there?
This season’s tarotscopes feature The Herbcrafter’s Tarot and The Astrology Deck.
After months of historic heat waves all across the northern hemisphere, we’re eager to feel the promise of autumn and (hopefully) cooler weather with the transition from fiery Leo season to our last sign of summer: cool, earthy Virgo. The zodiacal sign of mutable earth, Virgo is productive, supportive energy, eager to understand and distill, to improve and clarify. As astrologer Mecca Woods writes to Virgos in her book Astrology for Happiness and Success, “You don’t just set the bar — you raise it over and over again.” Mercury-ruled Virgo moves quickly and efficiently, sees problems before they even emerge, and understands how powerful the skill of thoughtful, intentional refinement can be.
Virgo season lives in the eighth and ninth months of the year, and our birth card of the Hermit is archetype number nine, which in Pythagorean numerology gives us a lot of fascinating angles to explore. The number nine is the last in the sequence, a digit that represents that tension between consciously approaching an ending and also recognizing a new horizon, a new beginning just around the corner. And as a mutable sign, Virgo also sits at the end of the season, wrapping up loose ends and setting us up for the start of autumn with Libra next month. With nine, we examine themes of spirituality, philanthropy, regeneration, guidance, wisdom, and reemergence — all concepts that live within the deliberate examination and thoughtful detachment of the Hermit.
The Hermit doesn’t retreat because they don’t care — if anything, it’s the opposite. This archetype knows how easy it is to get lost in the weeds, how tempting it can be to throw our entire self into a project and claim ownership over it, living and dying with every shift and slip. But one of the lessons of the Hermit and Virgo is that we don’t have to take everything on alone, don’t have to view ourselves purely through the lens of what we can do for others. We are not solely creatures of service, are more than what we provide or perform. This time of retreat, this stepping away from regular routines, is a way to find perspective, to see things more authentically, to detach. How can we take the space that we need to see circumstances and cycles for all that they are? In acknowledging what is wrapping up, what is moving beyond us, don’t we also make space for ourselves to heal and reflect, to better understand what we want to pursue next?
Every one of our cards this season is a pip — no court cards, no major arcana archetypes, and no aces or tens. We are all in periods of growth and development, learning and stretching and discovering, on the cusp of new change and new awareness. In this season of Virgo, remember the power of the Hermit, and take joy in where you are, where you’ve been, and where you’re going. Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. Virgo is ruled by Mercury, planet of communication and information, so if you know your Mercury placement you can also check out your card for that sign to get a more complete picture of your season ahead.

As always with these tarot readings, take what you need and leave what you don’t. Happy Virgo season!
Sometimes we get so attached to a particular perspective, a specific mindset, that we can’t see any other way. We believe our version of truth so fully that it begins to trap us in that headspace, limiting our ability to be flexible, to adapt, to see beyond circumstance. As you move into Virgo season, give yourself permission to explore and question, rather than feeling that you have to double down on whatever path you’re on. It may be that in opening your mind, you make important, even joyful discoveries, and that problems that once felt impossible suddenly have ways forward you can see clearly. Where have you been digging in your heels?
As you move into this season of mutable earth, you may find yourself defending a course of action, belief, or opinion all on your own. There can be power in knowing yourself, in letting your passions be witnessed — but as you stand up for your truths, don’t ignore the support that may be building around you, even if you aren’t always completely aware of it. Who is by your side, nodding along, offering resources or aid or insights? Who is helping you find solid ground, affirming your pursuits and cheering you on? You may not be as alone as you think, so this season, make an effort to find people whose values are aligned with your own. How can you expand your community? What lives at the heart of your ideals?
This season brings opportunities for you to take pride in your work — to celebrate all that you’ve accomplished, to recognize the ways that you’ve grown and learned. Whether you work for yourself or are part of a larger team, whether you’ve been collaborating with friends on something new or have been chipping away at a private project for a long time, give yourself permission to take joy in what you’ve created. Where do you see yourself reflected in this effort? What does it mean to watch pieces come together? And when you think about your future, which direction do you feel yourself being pulled towards?
There are moments when we can recognize the ways that we are moving forward — deliberately leaving behind a toxic situation or a damaging mindset or a negative thought spiral. Sometimes this comes with a cost, but it’s usually worth the effort. And as you move into this new season, pay attention to the ways that your mind is expanding, the new possibilities for care and discovery that emerge when you look up from something you’ve fixated on and take in the broader world. What is sparking your curiosity, your desire for connection? How can new information, new communities, new places, offer new ways of thinking?
In moving out of your season and into the next, you may find yourself feeling a bit disrupted, a bit destabilized. Whether your resources feel off, you’re disconnected with your body, or you feel uncertain about your future, this season may bring some questions. These kinds of shifts aren’t necessarily cataclysmic, but they can encourage us to consider what we are grounding ourselves within, and where we may be relying on shaky assumptions or uncertain resources. There may be more help, more access, more support that you realize available to you, and it may also be that in interrogating what you trust, you also discover things that you are no longer interested in investing time, energy, or intentionality into. What are you learning about your own personal definition of safety?
Happy birthday, Virgo! You may experience some unexpected emotional shifts this season, as relationships adjust, new feelings are revealed, or something that felt solid becomes more fluid that you’d realized. These kinds of transitions aren’t always comfortable, but they are usually necessary, revealing truths and opportunities for growth that you can really sink into. Give yourself the space and grace to process any difficulties, but don’t be afraid to also acknowledge places where your needs are not being met, where you are not being loved or appreciated in the ways that you deserve. What do your relationships with others teach you about your relationship with yourself? Where is being vulnerable paying off, and where might you need to protect yourself?
As we move into Virgo’s adaptive, service-oriented energy, you may find yourself hesitant to act without all of the information, eager to keep questioning and interrogating longer than usual. You’re already someone that wants to hear multiple perspectives and balance the needs of the many, but sometimes this instinct can lead to an inability to discern fact from fiction. Do you trust yourself to see something for all that it is? Do you trust those around you to help you identify and understand truth? There is wisdom in patience, so don’t get caught up in a false sense of urgency before you’re confident that you have all of the information. What helps you feel secure in your choices?
It may feel like you’ve been burning for a long time, putting all of your creativity and focus into something you know to be intensely, powerfully important. But with a finish line on the horizon, it can be essential to slow down, assessing what you have and what you need, rather than pressing on at any cost. This may require stepping back and looking at your progress, and your goal, clearly, rather than getting so swept up in emotion and obsession that you gamble it all just to see something through. What is this worth to you? How might you be able to achieve all that you want without losing an essential piece of yourself? And how can you balance self-care with success?
Being able to maneuver and explore is important to you, but this season you may find yourself feeling stuck in a particular emotion, assumption, or path forward, unable to pull yourself out without some hard work. Rather than self-isolating or getting completely lost in your own internal fears, give yourself an opportunity to explore your relationship with truth, to consider where your particular perspectives originated and how they have been fed. What might you be overlooking? Where might you be allowing an assumption to become the only version of reality? And how can you give yourself the gift of letting someone else help you see something more clearly?
It may feel that this season brings a lot of opportunities for wrapping up old projects or long-term goals — but as we move into mutable Virgo, you may find yourself facing an important creative choice that will help shape your next big move. There are many options ahead, but this is a moment to consider where you want to go, and how you want to grow. What are you ready to pursue with all of your considerable skill, and what may need to sit on the back burner for a bit longer? Be honest with yourself about what you can reasonably accomplish and devote yourself to, rather than trying to do everything all at once. Where are your passions leading you? What feels like the right thing to invest in, to innovate and explore?
You may experience a desire to hunker down on a particular project or direction this month, devoting yourself entirely to an ongoing ambition that requires steady, consistent effort. This can be a joyful and satisfying experience, particularly if you let yourself enjoy each step of this growth process rather than getting caught up in impatience for what is not yet finished. And while the eight of earth isn’t always the sexiest card in the deck, there is something intensely gratifying about watching your skills grow, watching your talents improve. This indicates a season of craftsmanship, of practice, of regular application, so sink into the rhythm of your work, and take pride in slow, tangible progress. How are you learning, expanding, improving? What is worth your time?
The mutable earth of this season may show up for you in more ways than one, but as we move into Virgo’s thoughtful and observant energy, pay particular attention to matters of the heart. How are you showing up for others, and how are they showing up for you? Being generous with vulnerability, with love, with care is a joyful and valuable thing — but if you’ve been feeling taken advantage of, if boundaries continue being crossed without acknowledgement or efforts to change, you may need to gather your strength and make a decision that prioritizes your own emotional wellbeing. What new spiritual or relational journey might be opening up? How can you put your needs first?

It can be hard to learn how to take up space proudly, abundantly, unapologetically. So many of us were raised to be quiet, meek, submissive, gentle, deferential — to let other people’s voices or needs or opinions hold the most weight, to make ourselves small even when we don’t want to, to stifle our discomfort rather than reveal it to other people, or acknowledge it to ourselves. Yet today the sun moves into the fixed fire of Leo, a sign ruled by the sun, known for its warmth and generosity and expressiveness. As we shift into this new season, Leo brings opportunities for taking up space, whatever that may look like for you.
Associated with the eighth major arcana archetype of Strength, Leo is known for drama, independence, and loving the spotlight. But this sign also can teach us so much about delighting in ourselves, encouraging others to celebrate their uniqueness, and connecting with our brightest wishes and boldest ambitions. Leo rejoices in “seeing and being seen,” as Claire Comstock-Gay writes in her Guide to the Stars, and knows that “to be seen and known and loved by others” is a gift, one that is woven into the fabric of so many of our desires. After all, why shouldn’t we celebrate what makes us special, what makes us strong, what makes us stand out? Why shouldn’t we long to be in community with those that truly appreciate the many facets of who we are? Why shouldn’t we want to shine brightly, to dazzle the world with our brilliance and magic?
Our birth card for this season, Strength, is typically associated with wisdom and patience, with recognizing the right moment to act. I would argue that Strength doesn’t just have to be about quiet sovereignty and restraint, but is also about knowing when to take up space, when to raise our voice, when to let our fury or need be visible to others. There’s energy, intensity, power in witnessing someone’s righteous anger, their palpable and earned frustration. Seeing someone express real emotion, particularly when others refuse to, can be healing, essential, can move the conversation along and create room for progress. Even if you don’t feel comfortable being the loudest voice in the room, there is so much might, so much force, so much potential in letting our emotions take up space, in demanding to be seen and heard. What would it feel like for you to give your feelings, your needs, room to breathe? How loud could your voice be if you stopped stifling it, stopped denying its existence?
Tarot eights are abundant powerhouses, showing what it looks like to double down on our intentions, our efforts, our collective movements. And so many of our cards for this season remind us of our power, urge us to prioritize what matters, and show us the possibilities that emerge when we make space for what we truly want.
In this season of Leo, remember the beauty of Strength, and the magic that runs through your veins. What are you ready to fight for, and why does it matter so much to you? Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. Leo is ruled by the sun, the center of our solar system and representative of ego, motivation, and life force, so pay special attention to the card drawn for your sun sign.

As always with these tarot readings, take what you need and leave what you don’t. Happy Leo season!
In this fiery season of independence, courage, and fighting for what you believe in, you likely feel right at home — Aries energy is often outspoken, opinionated, and brave, so this can be a powerful time for you. Yet the cards want to remind you to choose your battles with care, and to pour your energy into things that matter rather than seeing every opportunity for combat as one you must accept. What really feeds your spirit, and what is more of a distraction? How do you tend to the other elements at play in your world, instead of just living in endless states of fiery creativity? Remember your water, your earth, your air, and take the time to nurture your spirit this season. How are you integrating the person that you have been with the person you are becoming?
In this time of bold action, you may feel reluctant to make any major decisions or dramatic declarations — yet you may feel a need to shit or get off the pot, making a choice about where you will continue to be vulnerable, and where you may need to draw a new boundary. There can be real power in standing up for yourself, but that doesn’t always mean that you need to go out in a blaze of glory. Sometimes this can be as simple as choosing to care for yourself, instead of always offering care to others first. How can you prioritize your own healing, intuition, and sensitive emotions? Where can you nourish your own spirit? And by prioritizing your own needs, how can you find renewed strength within yourself?
You’re so good at picking up new skills and gathering important information, but this season, you may find a lot of joy in devoting yourself to a specific task, project, or ambition. An ability to adapt and learn quickly isn’t the same as dedicated, intentional effort towards mastery, so this season, figure out what you want to grow and commit to the process of focused, daily effort. What does it look like for you to learn everything that there is to know about something? How can you find practical ways to practice what you are discovering? What is worth your time, your energy, your resources? How can you become the best at something, and what will it mean to feel absolute confidence your abilities?
This season, it may feel like your heart is opening like a flower, as new possibilities for connection, vulnerability, discovery, and wonder begin to emerge. Your season may have brought some tender realizations or difficult challenges, yet a new cycle is now beginning, with opportunities for growth, community, and self-love presenting themselves in different ways. The question is, are you ready to take a chance on something new, something perhaps unexpected? Are you able to open your heart in a deliberate and necessary way? What is delighting you, fascinating you, and how can you pursue that sense of awe and curiosity? Where are you peeling back layers, either for self-discovery or to let others in?
Happy birthday, Leo! You may feel on top of the world this season, feeling like you’re gracefully and expertly balancing all of the tasks on your to-do list, your many responsibilities, and your creative endeavors. Enjoy this rush of sensation, this satisfaction in a full life lived well. Yet as you sink into this pleasure-filled movement, pay attention to what feels easy, and where you may start to feel restless or stifled. You are capable of holding space for many things, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to, or that everything you are doing is worthy of your attention. Where does your attention drift when you have room to breathe? How might you make adjustments that let you prioritize the things that matter most?
This is a season for planting seeds, for thinking about the future, for dreaming of what you want to accomplish for yourself. Sometimes this is a time of major goal-setting, while other times it means committing to small, incremental changes that will eventually lead you to a completely new place. Regardless, give yourself space this season to think about all that lies ahead, what you hope to build, where you want to be. Do you have specific long-term goals, or have you been so caught up in present stresses that you haven’t wanted to commit to something bigger, something far away? Give yourself permission to dream, to wonder, and think about what you can do today and tomorrow to ensure that the future you’re longing for becomes yours. What are you craving? Where can you begin?
Something that you’ve been working towards may begin to manifest in an exciting way this season, as you’re able to make tangible progress on a project, dream, ambition, connection, or goal. Whatever headway you’re achieving, take the time to celebrate this sensation of joy, abundance, and recognition. How does it feel to make something yourself, to move something forward in a specific and material way? There may still be plenty to do, a long road ahead, but enjoy this season of victory, and share the bounty that you may be enjoying with those you love and trust. How is this service or effort nurturing you? And how, in turn, can you nurture those around you as part of this movement?
As you shift into this new season of fire, pay attention to your pacing, to the energy and resources that you are expending towards your goals in both work and play. This is a time for slow and steady effort, rather than racing towards the finish line. Give yourself room to breathe, opportunities for pleasure, and space for patiently observing your own ebbs and flows. Keep your eyes on the prize, but try not to get so locked into one way of doing things that you can’t be flexible along the way, adapting to what you find and letting new ideas enrich your work. How do you take joy and satisfaction in various stages of a project? Where are you growing alongside your accomplishments?
You love to be on the move, learning and questioning and discovering — but this season, you may find a bit of hesitation within yourself, a bit of uncertainty about what you’re finding and what has yet to be revealed. Sometimes it can be complicated to see the kernels of truth in complex systems or structures, so be gentle with yourself if something isn’t immediately clear, or if you find yourself unsettled by what you observe. Bringing in additional perspectives or leaning on trusted companions may help you find your footing again, but don’t let that be a substitute for trusting yourself — you know more than you realize. What does it mean to honor your instincts? How can you balance fear or mystery with clarity, purpose, and confidence?
Healing can take many forms, and as you shift into Leo season, you may feel an inner kind of settling, a peace or clarity or renewed sense of purpose stilling something that has been tense or restless within you. Nourishment and true rest can bring a sense of wonder, even joy, but rather than trying to interrogate or understand what has shifted, give yourself a chance to simply enjoy it. Where have you undergone significant transformation, and how is it offering you a chance for renewal, recovery? What are you leaving behind, and what are you moving towards? Where are you discovering new strength within yourself, and how can you celebrate it?
You’re often described as a sign that is constantly looking forward, but as we move into this new season, you may find yourself looking back, reflecting on where you’ve been and how you’ve become the person that you are. Use this opportunity to consider moments of vulnerability that have revealed your strength, as well as periods of connection and sensitivity that have reminded you of your power. How do you show up for yourself, and for other people? What does it mean to offer yourself tenderness, grace, compassion, and how can you accept those gifts rather than avoiding them? What has been healing within you, and how can you carry that necessary work into your future?
This can be an empowering season, one of drive and strength and focus — but as you move into this time of fire, give yourself time to assess your assumptions, pay attention to details, and listen for unexpected truths. It’s easy to get caught up in a particular mindset, even if that mindset leaves us feeling like we’re out of options. Yet when we’re able to interrogate our beliefs and question our motives, sometimes it helps us see challenges through fresh eyes, and discover new opportunities where it felt like we had none. Show yourself compassion and patience, rather than critiquing yourself for not solving problems as soon as you notice them. How can you lean on those you trust for guidance, support, and advice? Where are you getting in your own way?

After a season of curiosity, exploration, and understanding, Cancer brings a balance of emotion, sensitivity, and strong boundaries. Our sign of cardinal water, Cancer is loyal, intuitive, and intensely compassionate. This is an energy that understands how to sink into heavy emotions, but that prefers to keep their most vulnerable sensations and longings to themselves.
How do you understand privacy? What happens in the depths of your subconscious, that you may keep so hidden that you aren’t even completely aware of it yourself? With Cancer, we are invited to explore various kinds of intimacy, particularly around caretaking, nurturing, nourishing. Like all water signs, Cancer isn’t interested in the superficial — but this season, having a container for emotion, relationships, community, and vulnerability is incredibly important. What do you guard, hold back, and what do you allow others to see? How do you decide what to share, and what to protect? Who do you let in, and why? When do your boundaries erode, and how do they become fortified?
In the correspondences created by the Order of the Golden Dawn, Cancer is tied to the Chariot, the seventh archetype that the Fool encounters on their journey through the major arcana. The Chariot is often associated with determination and focus, perseverance, intensity — it’s with this archetype that we take the information that we gathered with Gemini and the Lovers, and start to test the waters, see what feels right, push our own limits. When we layer in the meanings of the number seven in Pythagorean numerology, we also find wisdom, spirituality, purpose: a craving for a quest, a desire to understand what is driving us forward. The Chariot challenges us to ask more questions, to find the need and longing and curiosity that is motivating our actions and living within our choices. What pushes you to take risks? What makes a big opportunity worth the effort?
Cancer’s ruling planet of the moon, as well as its association with the Chariot and the number seven, makes it a sign brimming with mystery and care, nourishment and necessary caution. Many of the cards pulled for this season are about walking a fine line between truth and compassion, protection and pursuit. In this season of Cancer, pay attention to what motivates you to act, and when your intuition buzzes with warning. What is worth fighting for? When do you break your own rules? How can you extend compassion to those around you, while also offering it to yourself?
Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. Cancer is ruled by the moon, associated with emotions and embodiment, so pay special attention to your moon placement this season.
I recently hosted an Instagram series on social justice and community care resources, which can help you find places to donate, learn, and connect. As always with these tarot readings, take what you need and leave what you don’t. Happy Cancer season!
What are you pursuing? You’re famously high energy, competitive, and determined — and this season, it may feel like the fire inside of you is burning unceasingly, urging you to move, create, inspire. Don’t be afraid to tap into the emotions that are tied to your work, play, and creativity, especially if you’re working on something more personal than your usual projects. There is magic in the fire and water within you, so listen to that hum, and see where it takes you. Where is your vision leading you? How can you be completely and fully authentic?
How are you defining success? Your energy tends to be more slow and methodical, yet this season, you may find yourself swept up in movement, as things click into place and you feel a rush of excitement, fulfillment, empowerment. There’s such magic in progress, so take time to celebrate what you are making, where you are growing. Yet you may also find opportunities to clarify what the finish line really looks like, to recognize within yourself what it would mean to feel like something is completed. Where are you finding freedom? How does achievement also inspire passionate joy?
Which limits are you pushing? Your curiosity and capacity for multiple projects at once is legendary, and clarifying and defending your creative ambitions last season, you may now feel yourself starting to slow down, run out of steam, or question how much longer you can push at this pace. You are capable of so much, but even the strongest need to rest, and sometimes, it’s wise to ask for help, support, or comfort when we need it most. This season, pay attention to all that you are juggling, and consider ways that you can be flexible, show yourself compassion around deadlines or restrictions. You may feel that you have a lot to prove, but who are you trying to convince?
Happy birthday, Cancer! As we shift into your season, it’s important for you to ask yourself: where is privacy doing more harm than good? You’re simultaneously nurturing and protective, and often that is most clear in the ways that you treat yourself — you won’t let just anyone in, but once someone has access to that tender heart, you expect them to treat it with respect. But sometimes we build a narrative around suffering, that we have to do so in silence, that our challenges are ours alone to bear. This season, offer yourself the gifts of compassion and perspective, particularly if you find yourself caught up in a victim mindset. Is it really that bad? What do you gain by suffering in silence? And in letting someone else in on your pain, how might they help you see it in a new, more accurate light?
What do you believe, with every single piece of yourself? And how do those beliefs manifest? You may feel clear-eyed and focused in a way that is particularly exciting this season, throwing your entire being into a goal, ambition, or truth that feels like it defines you. There’s power in fucking shit up, in calling out falsehoods, in reckoning with what is broken. Yet don’t forget to care for yourself, to rest and breathe, to let others join you in the fight. What is becoming more and more clear to you? And how can you use that sense of clarity and truth to make a real, lasting impact?
Where are you getting in your own way? You are so good at making things perfect, at getting everything in line, at checking the details and ensuring that every last challenge is conquered. But sometimes, that sense of perfectionism, that desire for achievement, can get you in trouble, and leave you scrambling to find the balance between safety and freedom. You are allowed to care for yourself, and sometimes that looks like stepping back from your work, looking at a situation critically, and finding an exit strategy. Where are self-limiting beliefs holding you back from joyful movement? How can you let yourself be free?
How are you nurturing yourself? The world is incredibly hard right now, and as someone with a gift for listening, honoring all sides, being open to new perspectives, it can be draining to absorb so much from others, to keep looking for beauty in the darkness. This season, remember the gifts of Cancer and don’t be afraid to nourish yourself, to care for yourself, to remember your roots and your ties and your needs. What does it look like to give yourself radical compassion? What, or who, helps you remember who you are? Are there wounds within your heart that are craving attention, healing, and how can you prioritize that kind of gentleness?
What are you fighting for? Tension is a powerful motivator, and this season, it may feel like you are being challenged at every turn, facing obstacles no matter what you try. Sometimes this is a real thing that you have to deal with — but other times, external challenges are a result of internal indecision, frustration, or lack of desire. Are you really chasing after something that you want? Or are you going through the motions, wishing you were anywhere else? Pay attention to the origins of conflict, and stop giving your energy, time, and resources to something that doesn’t actually matter to you. Is this a strife that you are willing to endure, or a sign that you’re ready for a different objective?
How are you setting yourself up for creative success? The first stages of a new project can be so exhilarating – and as you continue to make progress on an ambition, goal, or dream that’s close to your heart, do yourself a favor and stay organized about what you are working towards. Structure may feel at odds with your endless desire for freedom, but putting a few stabilizing elements in place will ensure that you get exactly where you want to go. Who do you want to bring into your work? What milestones can you identify? Which resources can you tap into? And what can you celebrate already?
What is truth worth to you? There is power in clarity — but there can also be unexpected, unanticipated pain. When our eyes are opened to something, when we share or receive a critical piece of information, when we perceive a truth in a way that shakes us, it can be wildly freeing. Yet it’s essential that we pair this kind of sharp lucidity with intentionality, purpose, and compassion. You have a capacity for blunt expression that is a true gift, but it’s important to know when, and how, to wield it. This season, pay attention to what you share, what you receive, and what you do with this information. Truth is a gift, but it may come with a cost. How can you balance honesty with sensitivity?
What are you ready to discover? Perceptive and reflective, you have a gift for innovation, and are able to see things in unexpected, powerful ways. And in the wake of a major shift, this season may bring opportunities for new clarity, particularly when it comes to shared resources, shared information, shared beliefs. While Cancer may be associated with limits, the Chariot makes a lot of space for discovery, and invites big questions. What lives behind your desire for intellectual expansion? What pushes you to look deeper? What inspires you to investigate?
What are you longing for? In this season of water, you may feel ready to plunge into the depths — yet you may find yourself craving resources that you can’t access, longing for something you don’t possess. The question is: are you actually lacking, or are you just unsatisfied with the resources that you have at your disposal? Do you truly need what you want, or are you just struggling to find a solution that utilizes what you already have? Give yourself some space, and some grace, to explore any shifts in resources that you experience. No matter what this season brings, you have access to more than you realize. How can you prioritize hope? Who is offering you aid?
This season’s tarotscopes feature The Queer Tarot and The Astrology Deck.
As we shift into Gemini season, into this time of curiosity and connection, of gathering and sharing information, of feeling busy and restless and eager to stay moving, I think it’s important to acknowledge just how overwhelming the world feels right now. Information overload is a real thing, and with Mercury going retrograde again, it’s more important than ever to consider our sources, be attentive to our news consumption, and take a step away from social media when necessary. Gemini season can bring mild whiplash even in the best of times, and with all that’s happening in the United States and around the world, let me offer you a gentle reminder to be kind to yourself, to take breaks when you need them, to not pressure yourself to be connected 24/7. There is much to do, much to learn, much to fight for — but please, balance that work with rest, with self-care, with compassion.
Gemini is the sign of mutable air, of discovery and dissemination, of intellectual wonder and collective revelations — and in the astrological correspondences from the Order of the Golden Dawn, Gemini is tied to the tarot’s sixth major arcana archetype of the Lovers. A card that we tend to first see through the lens of relationships and partnership, the Lovers comes after the challenging wisdom and ongoing change of the Hierophant, and offers us an opportunity to expand, to go our own way, to experiment and play and connect. With the Lovers, we pay attention to what we are drawn to, make choices that reflect our values, see how it feels to write our own rules. What have you felt curious about, wanted to understand on a deeper level? Which connections and relationships have you been longing to deepen? Where have you been eager to explore, and what is holding you back from wandering through the unknown?
Six in numerology is associated with nurturing, growth, mutual aid, responsibility, collective care, safety, love, and expansion. It’s the kind of energy that so many of us are craving, especially in the States: the ability to protect our own, to feel respected and uplifted, to live in systems of reciprocal care instead of constantly fighting for rights to privacy, bodily autonomy, or even the most basic forms of respect. Six isn’t the end of the story, but it is a moment to breathe, to relax, to take comfort in where we are. Gemini and the Lovers archetype reminds us of the power of community, of sharing information, of finding strength through facts and figures, analysis and understanding. What do you know? What are you learning? How does discovery lead to courage, empowerment, fortitude? When do you feel that you’re at your most authentic, and who do you share that authenticity with?
So many of our cards for this season focus on boundaries: setting them, maintaining them, defending them. This may be a time of expansion and exploration, but just becuase we’re sharing and interrogating information alongside the collective doesn’t mean we can’t also care for our weary bodies, protect our tender hearts, honor our needs and limits. In this season of Gemini, remember that you are not alone, that there is strength in numbers, that collective action so often is what truly creates change. Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, trickster planet of information and communication, so if you know your Mercury placement you can also include that in this spread layout for a more complete picture of your season.

As always with these tarot readings, take what you need and leave what you don’t. Have a safe and joyful Gemini season!
A master of boundaries, responsibility, and generosity, this card represents a leader, an innovator, an architect — someone who can see what needs to change, and puts in the effort to make a shift that is gradual, one that will last. As you move into Gemini season, you may feel tempted to use your natural fire to rush forward, to move at lightning speed, to jump into action. But this is an opportunity to nurture seeds of growth that can have a lasting, generational impact, a chance to set something in motion that will continue to prosper long after you’ve moved on to something new. Which causes or goals are you investing in? What are you willing to work towards? Who around you could help support your vision?
After your season of intuitive choices and growing relationships, Gemini season is calling you to think about your future, about the goals you want to achieve and the legacy you want to build. You may find new opportunities for growth and stability, but they will require consistent focus, determination, and persistence to finish. You tend to be known for your ability to stay the course, but what does it take for you to begin something new, to take a chance on something important? Give yourself permission to dream big, and then begin to make a plan for how you want to achieve it. Which seeds are you ready to plant?
Happy birthday, Gemini! Last season may have been all about organization, discipline, and structure, but as we move into your season, you may find yourself needing to harness your natural fire to defend your vision, to find the layers of meaning and value within your own work. You may believe completely in what you’re working towards, in the creativity and originality that you possess — but how can you ensure that those around you see it too? Don’t get discouraged if it feels like you’re all alone in your ambitions, because eventually, everyone will see your brilliance for exactly the magical offering that it is. How do you find courage and confidence?
It may feel like your efforts are moving without any trouble this season, as your creative dreams, passionate pursuits, and driving ambitions find growth. This is a joyful experience, a dazzling and exciting period of expression, collaboration, and discovery, as new people begin to contribute to your work and different opportunities emerge. After what may have felt like a period of stagnation or frustration, Gemini season brings new excitement and power, so let yourself be proud of everything that you’re accomplishing. What does it mean to protect your own vision? How do the people around you fortify your resolve, build up your belief in yourself?
Last season may have put you on the defensive, but movement will feel a bit easier as you shift into Gemini season. You’ve got your eyes on the prize, and are devoting yourself to something important, something that matters deeply to you. Determination is a powerful force, but don’t get so focused on the destination that you refuse to be flexible in adapting to obstacles along the way — perseverance and stubbornness can look and feel nearly identical at times. How willing are you to listen to new ideas, let others help you, try something a little different? Where might there be room for learning and growth, rather than doing things the way that they’ve always been done?
Gemini season may bring a beautiful sense of contentment, as your daily life is filled with delicious pleasures, creature comforts, joyful connection, and being fully seen by those you love. You’re not always someone that is content to stop working or serving others, but this season, give yourself permission to enjoy each moment, to let others hold and support you, to clearly see your place in community. You deserve rest too, deserve to feel cared for and pampered. Love is a reciprocal thing, not just something that you extend to other people. How are you allowing yourself to receive and enjoy kindness, support, empathy? What does it feel like to be loved?
A major effort may come to a conclusion this season, and while you have accomplished something important, you may also feel completely burned out. The world has been hard, and you tend to seek compromise and balance in everything, trying to make sure that everyone feels seen and heard — but if you’ve been neglecting caring for yourself, if you’ve had trouble maintaining boundaries around work and rest, you may find yourself too exhausted or drained to start something new right away. Show yourself compassion and take the time to rest, even if it means that you have to delegate certain responsibilities to other people. How can you step back from movement in order to care for yourself? What would it feel like to let other people help, instead of shouldering every burden alone?
After a massive transition last season, you may step into Gemini season with a bit of extra caution, with your defenses up, with a readiness to go to battle. Boundaries are important, but this season, pay attention to the ways that you set them, and the ways that you enforce them. How do you decide who or what to let in? If your instinct is often to draw a hard line before hearing the full picture, to protect yourself whether or not a threat is present, give yourself the gift of time, contemplation, and perspective. What have you been rushing? How could you alleviate some internal pressure? What may require a second or third look?
You’re someone that loves to be on the move, and in this season of mutable air, it may feel like ideas are coming hard and fast, nearly overwhelming you in the excitement of fresh insights and newly revealed desires. Lean into this! There is such magic in new perspectives, in wanting to create change, in letting a new vision change your world. However, don’t forget to balance all of this air with your own natural fire, and to maintain a sense of creativity and collaboration rather than getting so fixated on a particular method or outcome that you can’t see any other possibilities. How can you blend joyful exploration with dedicated focus?
You’re someone that typically has a great handle on boundaries — but in this new season of Gemini, you may find yourself locking up your heart even more tightly than usual. There’s nothing wrong with wanted to protect yourself from harm, but it’s hard to maintain relationships without any vulnerability. If you find yourself feeling frustrated or dissatisfied with connections or community, take some time for reflection and awareness, to consider what is under the surface of your discontent. Have you been pulling back from those you normally trust? What kind of tenderness are you working to protect? And is it actually working, or do you miss the bonds that have started to fray?
After last season’s challenges, this time in Gemini may bring a more definitive conclusion, as something that once felt very important comes to a necessary close. This type of experience can bring a wide variety of feelings, from grief to relief to sadness to exhilaration — but one of the best things that you can do for yourself is stay present, rather than rushing ahead to the next thing. Give yourself time to feel, to process, to recover, before you immediately start planting new seeds. What are you learning about yourself through this ending? How are you different than you were before?
After moving through a major shift last season, you may find yourself in a place of grief or adjustment, working to assess your resources, energy levels, and personal needs. This card often emerges when we have access to assets or support that we aren’t accepting, so consider who has made themselves available to you, what options you really have, and where any internal tension is coming from. How can you take the help that is being offered? What is keeping you from leaning on other people? What would let you feel safe enough to make yourself vulnerable?

Last month we started a brand new astrological year, enjoying the fiery confidence and brilliant courage of Aries. But now we are moving into a season of fixed earth, of steady focus, of sensuality and loyalty and devotion. Welcome to Taurus season.
Our birth card for Taurus is the Hierophant, a figure of discovery and interrogation, of spiritual knowledge and community wisdom. It’s with the Hierophant that we honor the rituals that provide comfort and pleasure, as well as digging into the boundaries or restrictions that we may be starting to chafe against. Where do you feel free, empowered, excited, and where do you feel stagnant, trapped, limited? Traditions and rules are useful tools for connection, depth, and protection, but build those walls too high and we forget that there is a whole world beyond our work, our finances, our safety.
In numerology, five is the midpoint, a chance to pivot and shift, an opportunity to move away from old patterns and embrace adventure. And while the Hierophant may not seem like a figure that we would immediately associate with traveling the world or taking big risks, they are willing to ask the hard questions, to look beyond what they already know, and willingly acknowledge that some mysteries will never be solved. What does it mean to accept natural tension, inherent friction? What does it feel like to accept internal or external conflict, pushing through the hard stuff instead of trying to smooth all the ragged edges or harsh words? What could this energy offer you, if you worked with it instead of struggling against it?
Taurus is a sign that is often associated with pleasure and comfort, that gets accused of being stubborn or obsessive — and like all fixed signs, there’s an element of truth to this, a desire to stick to the plan and focus on what we know. Dependability, loyalty, and steadfastness are beautiful, powerful, important qualities. Yet when we cling to what’s comfortable, when we refuse to engage with anything that challenges or pushes or frustrates us, we stunt our own growth. The Hierophant, the number five, and Taurus invite us to consider where we might be stuck in an old pattern, where we might be clinging to the familiar instead of allowing ourselves to blossom, consider, explore. What would it look like to give ourselves a taste of something new, instead of deferring to the old? What would it mean to open up new pathways, new ideas, new connections, to make space for new possibilities?
In this season of Taurus, pay attention to the points of friction in your life, the places where you are being tested or challenged. So many of our cards ask us to consider freedom, adventure, to pay attention to when we’re curious and when we’re complacent. What does it mean to dream bigger, to look past our own limits? What happens when we challenge our own assumptions? Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. Taurus is ruled by Venus, the planet of beauty, art, and harmony, so if you know your Venus placement you can also include this card in your layout for a more complete picture of your Taurus season.
I’m launching a six-week class on integrating numerology into your tarot practice, and would love to have some Autostraddle readers included! You can find my writing on Patreon, my website, TikTok, and Instagram,, and make sure you’re following me on Twitter for the latest announcements about my upcoming tarot book, publishing with Weiser in January 2023.
As always with these tarot readings, take what you need and leave what you don’t. Happy Taurus season!
As we shift out of your season and into a time of slower, more careful movement, pay attention to the ways that you allow yourself freedom to explore rather than clinging to a set path. You may be great at focusing on what you want and creating a plan to achieve it, but how often do you let yourself move without envisioning a finish line? What would it look like to take the space to wander and create, without an end goal in mind? Give yourself opportunities for playful connection and curious discovery this season, taking in your surroundings and nurturing your spirit. How can you show yourself love? And how does giving back to those you care for make you feel like your cup is overflowing?
Happy birthday, Taurus! You may feel a sensation of heart-opening this season, as possibility and wonder intersect with sensitivity, vulnerability, and deep connection. While you may be more comfortable in the physical realm, most concerned with things that you can taste and touch and protect, give yourself opportunities for intimacy this season, chances to share pieces of yourself with those you love. Who do you let in, and what does it feel like to do so? How are your relationships evolving? Is there someone that you’ve been wanting to experience deeper closeness with? Sometimes we have to make the first move, have to invite someone in before they will extend the same generosity. What would it feel like to share your heart?
As you move into the fixed earth of Taurus, you may find new opportunities for leadership, discipline, and organization, chances to take charge over a big project or move into a new position of responsibility. There is a real dignity to overseeing something important, to knowing that others are looking to you for control and authority — and rather than getting overwhelmed by expectation, allow yourself to pay attention to your own boundaries, your own rules. How do you protect your visions, guard your dreams, ensure your own future? What systems can you put into place to ensure that your work continues to grow at a steady, solid pace? What would it look like to step fully into your power?
It may feel tempting to charge ahead with a specific idea or perception this season, to hold fast to your understanding of truth and not waver in your belief about how to achieve a specific goal or intention. But sometimes we get so in our heads around a particular topic that it’s hard for us to adapt, becomes difficult to accept other viewpoints. Sweet Cancer, this season it’s important that you honor the perspectives of others, especially if you disagree with them. Truth is not always a clearly drawn line, instead often dwelling in shades of grey, so rather than backing yourself into a corner, allow your mind to wander, to listen, to consider. Where could shifting your approach reveal new possibilities?
This season may activate some challenges for you, Leo, as you feel a need to retreat, protect, and assess. There can be real power in looking over your own decisions, actions, and intentions, and sometimes it’s necessary to keep that work private for a time so that we can pay attention to our own intuition. However, resist the temptation to stay hidden in the shadows, to never share your insights or concerns with anyone else. Sometimes in revealing our burdens to others, we can find new solutions, see our troubles from an angle that we might’ve otherwise never considered. How can you lean on the people you trust? Where might a fresh perspective help you find your place and power again?
Known in other decks as the page of cups, this card speaks to the joy, eagerness, and awe that we can feel when embarking on a new emotional journey, building a new relationship, or embracing our sense of creativity in a new way. And while you are so often a figure of care, perfection, and cleaning up the messes of other people, give yourself opportunities for play, wonder, and deep curiosity this season. What project or vision might you explore, that would feed something deep within you? Where are you being asked to be vulnerable, open, generous? Where can you indulge your fascination with something, or someone?
You’re so often the voice of reason, the peacemaker, the diplomat, particularly in situations where tempers are running high or no one can see eye to eye. But this season, you may feel the urge to strike out on your own, to stand up for a belief or vision or ideal in a way that sets you apart from others around you. This may feel uncomfortable, even worrisome, but you know what you want, and what you need — don’t doubt your instincts now. Be thoughtful about the battles you pick, but once you’ve committed to something, stand firm in your convictions. What would it feel like to fight for what you want?
An archetype associated with chaos, destruction, and rapid change, the Tower is rarely a welcome sight. But Scorpio, you are not someone that is afraid to dig up the rot and make space for something new — transformation excites you, inspires you. Your challenge this season will be in allowing this shift to happen, even if you haven’t been the person initiating it. Sometimes in surrendering control we find new freedom, and it might be that one of the things that this season helps you break free from is the need to wield power over things that simply cannot be overpowered. How can you find the joy and magic in change? Where are you being called to loosen your grip?
Also known as the knight of wands, this figure is one of joy, vigor, determination, and excitement. This season you may find yourself eager to press forward in a pursuit that fills you with passion and purpose, setting big goals and racing towards them with open arms. Enjoy the momentum and enthusiasm that are building within you, this desire to prove yourself and gather others to your cause — but don’t get so lost in the rush of movement that you forget to follow through with the actual work. How are you making your mark on the world, and how can you ensure that you accomplish all that you’re setting out to do?
In this season of fixed earth, you may find yourself craving retreat, solitude, opportunities for reflection and personal development. You’re so good at setting a goal and sticking to it, at keeping your eyes on the prize and doing what it takes to achieve those big ambitions — but sometimes, especially if you find yourself getting close to a particular finish line, it’s essential to slow down, step back, and look at how far you’ve come. This isn’t just about assessing your work; it’s also about honoring the ways that you have changed and grown throughout the process, and recognizing the wisdom you have accumulated. What are you learning about yourself? How do peace and stillness help you see yourself more clearly?
Some intellectual pursuits or assumptions may be challenged this season, forcing to evaluate what you know, what you believe, and what you are discovering. The mind can be a strange and uncertain place, so if you find yourself clinging to a particular version of truth, desperate to prove that you’re right in spite of mounting evidence towards a different conclusion, resist the urge to fight and instead make an effort to listen. You may excel at rationality and pragmatism, at looking at the world through a clinical, detached lens, but sometimes there are truths that the mind alone cannot understand. How can you let your heart, your soul, help you grasp new ideas? Where is time to expand?
Death is a natural part of life, yet for many, loss and release can be a frightening, disorienting experience. Pisces, you are better than most at slipping between worlds, at finding the magic and joy that dwell in dreams and fantasy, at understanding that what is unknown can sometimes hold the most beauty. Yet if you find yourself grieving this season, working to accept an ending that you hoped would never come, be gentle with yourself. Your heart is soft for a reason, and that is not a weakness but a strength. How can you care for yourself through challenging transitions? How might this ending create space for an important new start?

Welcome to Aries season, friends! Falling on the spring equinox and beginning a new astrological year, Aries is cardinal fire: independent, passionate, visionary, with big dreams and the energy to achieve them. After the intellectual and analytical air of Aquarius, after the dreamy, intuitive exploration of Pisces, Aries season brings heat, magic, and structure to our boldest and brightest ambitions. This is an opportunity to build, to achieve, to conquer. Where do we want to go, and how do we plan to get there? If you’ve felt determination, motivation, anticipation building up within you, what do you plan to do with it?
Of course, the last few years have been incredibly difficult, and you may not feel brimming with fire and passion, ready to take on the world, eager to chase after your goals with abandon and make your mark in a lasting, powerful way. And that is absolutely okay. Not every season, every moon cycle, every shift has to be for every person, and if all you want to do in this time of Aries is crawl into bed, I salute you. But if you find yourself becoming a bit more energetic, craving focus, longing for a change, then Aries season might be just the thing to lean all the way into. Where have you felt stagnant, and what could you do to shake things up? What desire has been building within you, that you’re ready to pursue with everything you have?
In many ways, Aries season can set the tone for the entire year, helping us to clarify what we want out of this next astrological cycle. What have you learned about yourself, your cravings, your ambitions, over the last year? How have you changed since March 2021? What have you left behind, and what have you embraced? Consider the ways that you spend your time, share your resources, care for your physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual selves. Where do you want to put your energy now? Who do you dream of becoming, and what would it take to get there?
Associated with the major arcana archetype of the Emperor, Aries brings intense clarity, alongside a willingness to stand up and go after the future that we want. After taking time to engage with all that dwells beneath the surface of our subconscious, Aries wants to drag those dreams out into the light, to put in the work to achieve them, to take charge of our lives and make sure that those dreams come true. And in the same way, the Emperor looks at the longings of the Fool, the possibilities offered by the Magician, the choices made by the Priestess, and the raw abundance generated by the Empress, and gets it organized, focused, protected. The Emperor is an archetype that helps us create limits and systems for ourselves, making a long-term plan for how we will achieve our many goals.
Think of Aries season as an opportunity to get your shit together, if that’s what you’re itching for. What have you started, that you want to protect? What are you planning to begin, that needs more definition? The Emperor wants us to bring activation energy to our work, play, dreams, and objectives, bringing fire and focus instead of passively drifting through our days. But just because this is the beginning of a new cycle, that doesn’t mean that we have to start a project that’s brand new to us. We can bring Aries and Emperor energy to whatever we’re working on, whatever we care about, whatever we hope to accomplish.
Many of our cards for this season are in the suit of lasers (wands/fire in this deck), and we have a number of fives, sixes, and sevens, cards that fall in the middle of their cycles. These cards are urging us to pour fire and intention into our work, to devote ourselves fully to something that matters to us. Where can you embrace fresh perspectives, a renewed purpose, a clarified vision, to something you’re already working through? How are you devoting yourself to your desires, protecting your efforts, keeping your movement steady? How can you define success in your own way?Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. Aries is ruled by Mars, the planet of action and pursuit, so if you know your Mars placement you can also include that in your reading for a more complete picture of your Aries season.
I’ve got a lot of really exciting things in the pipeline, including a free video lesson on numerology in tarot in a few weeks, so if you like my work and aren’t already subscribed to my free newsletter, you can get on the list right here. You can find my writing on Patreon, my website, TikTok, and Instagram, and make sure you’re following me on Twitter for the latest announcements about my upcoming tarot book.
As always with these tarot readings, take what you need and leave what you don’t. Happy Aries season!
Happy birthday, Aries! You’re rarely afraid of taking action, going after what you want, or breaking a few rules to get where you need to be — and this season, your natural fire and dynamic magnetism may feel extra intense, giving you all the courage that you need to pursue your deepest, most authentic desires with fervor, confidence, and power. What have you been building, that you’re ready to share with the world? Who are you becoming, that you’re excited to let others see? You have the ability to lead and inspire with ease, and this season may bring opportunities to invite others into your work, to collaborate and build towards a future that brings joy, creativity, and freedom to the many rather than just the few. What brightens your shine, and how can you let your sparks light fires all around you? How are you balancing structure with originality?
A new idea may capture your fancy this season, and while you’re not generally one to go rushing forward without a clear plan, Aries season is inviting you to take a few chances, to step outside of your familiar patterns and comfort zones to pursue something that may expand your understanding of who you are. What if you believed that your biggest dream could come true? What if you allowed yourself to take charge of a passion project, instead of talking yourself out of it based solely on the risks you’d need to take? Harness this child of fire’s optimism, inspiration, and creativity, and allow yourself to thoroughly consider what you want to pursue. Where are you ready to chase after something new? How can you integrate all that you’ve learned into an imaginative, authentic cycle of growth?
You rarely run out of new ideas, clever Gemini, but it’s not always easy for you to stay dedicated to a project, to remain committed even as fresh ambitions work their way into your mind and heart. Yet this season, you may find yourself in a position of fighting for something that really matters to you, putting everything that you have into completing an ongoing, long-term dream. There’s magic in seeing something through to the end, in resisting the lure of a bright new beginning in order to make sure that an old objective actually comes to fruition — but this is something important, something worth struggling for. Even if it feels like no one understands what you’re working towards, even if it seems like nobody gets the vision of your project, hold fast to your sense of self, and remind yourself of the power of your ambition. How can you continue to invest in your own work? What do you need in order to making progress?
Something that you’ve been working towards may click into a higher gear this season, as you feel momentum building and old obstacles falling to the side. Take some time to celebrate your achievements, to feel pride in how far you’ve come, to recognize the ways that you’ve learned and evolved and grown as a person, a creator, a leader. How can you bring fresh energy to an existing project, and where might a new collaborator, perspective, or resource help take things to the next level? You bring so much depth and tenacity to your work, but don’t forget to tend to yourself too, balancing this season’s blazing fire with your own cooling, soothing waters. How does your work reflect the things that you care about the most deeply, and where might you be ready to put more of yourself into this project? How are your biggest ambitions helping you connect with other people, letting you be seen in new and even more authentic ways?
So much of what you do, say, and create is tied to audiences and communities, a quality that makes you intensely generous in the ways that you share, collaborate, and give of yourself — but this season, make a dedicated effort to extend some of that generosity inwards. How do you care for yourself? Which internal wounds are you aware of, and how are you healing them? What gives you true, uncomplicated pleasure? You let your fire burn so brightly, warming and inspiring everyone around you, but it’s okay (and sometimes deeply necessary) to occasionally step back from the spotlight and show patience, devotion, and gentleness to your physical self and your daily practices. Which rituals make you feel whole, safe, joyful? Where can you simplify, and how might that allow you to devote your energy to the things that matter most?
New cycles, and Aries season in particular, are so often about looking forward: what do we want for our future? What are we ready to work towards? How can we name our desires and make a plan to achieve them? But this season, you may find yourself turning your gaze backwards, reflecting on where you’ve come from, your past and your history and your personal roots. Whether this feels like a gentle way to care for your inner child or an invigorating practice that reminds you of old dreams that you’re ready to reactivate, give yourself plenty of intentional, protected space for meditation, reflection, and introspection. You may be a deeply service-oriented person, but that doesn’t mean that you aren’t allowed to have big dreams of your own. How do you identify your needs, and how often do you express them? Where could you put yourself first, in a way that still aligns with your values and ethics?
Your cardinal air may feel particularly invigorated as we move into Aries season, as you find yourself excited and eager to put your many ideas into action. This season, the cards want you to dream big, even as you work to ground your plans in tangible resources, to think carefully about how you can chase after desires that line up with your personal beliefs, ideals, and values. It can be easy to get swept up into grind culture, to put your energy and efforts into goals that other people believe are important — but as you organize and expand your own ambitions, take time to listen to your own instincts, to sort out what matters to you. How are you balancing what you crave with the needs of the community you live within? Where are you willing to make lasting, powerful change, and how can you do so in a thoughtful, intentional way that doesn’t destabilize what you have already built?
As we move into this new season and another astrological cycle, you may feel a sensation of things clicking into place, falling into line, perhaps even of forces beyond your control urging you in a surprising direction. Rather than trying to assert your own power or strategize for ways that you can take full advantage of the situation, give yourself the freedom to see where this season takes you, enjoying any strokes of luck or unexpected connections for what they are: part of the journey. What are you being invited to activate, and where might you be ready to leave something old behind? Which patterns feel good to sink into, and which no longer make sense for you? After last season’s intense creative exploration, this may be an opportunity for new movement, sudden shifts, or joyful growth, so stay alert, and don’t be afraid to trust your instincts. Where is the wind taking you?
So much of your life is about knowledge, wisdom, gathering information, and experiencing new things. And as you move into fiery, determined Aries season, don’t be afraid to turn that curious gaze inward, to investigate the vast worlds that live within you, to carry that healing, care-oriented energy of Pisces forward into this new cycle. What have you learned about yourself over the last year, and which questions do you still have about what you want, what you fear, what you hope the world can be? What new truths might you find if you prioritize self-discovery rather than focusing on schools of thought or external philosophies? You’re so generous with insights and perspectives, often willing to share what you know with those around you, but you may find some magic within yourself that you want to keep quiet for a time, to play with in private before unleashing it on the world. Who are you learning you can be?
Even as your ambitions and goals start to make measurable, noticeable progress, you may still find that your gaze is fixed to the horizon this season, waiting for something more to happen, even feeling impatient with the pace that your efforts are taking. Your natural sense of drive, focus, and persistence are legendary, but don’t get so absorbed with your expectations for the future that you miss out on all of the joy, satisfaction, and pleasure that’s already in your present. What are you generating, and how is your natural creativity adding layers of magic to your work? How might new perspectives or collaborative efforts shift your work in an exciting new direction? As you move into the competitive drive and focused fire of Aries season, don’t lose yourself in obsessive work patterns or downplay the achievements that you’ve already made. How can you enjoy every stage of the process, instead of focusing only on the finish line?
You’re often described as detached or analytical, able to remove emotions from your work in a way that can seem cold to those that don’t understand your process — but as you move into passionate Aries season, it may feel like feelings are bubbling up, slowing down your progress and forcing you to turn your sharp gaze inward. Grief can be a heavy thing, but ignoring those more challenging emotions won’t make them go away. Instead, make an effort to show yourself true compassion this season, taking all of the time and space that you need to reflect, heal, and perhaps even let others offer you a shoulder to cry on. Vulnerability is not a weakness, and in allowing yourself feel your feelings and be present with any hidden pain, you can actually work through sorrow or feelings of loss instead of just suffering in silence. How can you show yourself grace? What do you need in order to recover, move forward, and thrive?
As we move out of your season of healing and connection and into a period of activation and rapid, focused motion, you may find yourself carrying that steady patience forward, refusing to let others rush you or tell you how to meet your goals. There’s a real wisdom in knowing what we do and do not want, in being able to listen before acting, in believing that we are capable of making decisions that work best for us. And this is a season to keep trusting your intuition and your natural fortitude, to let yourself take pride in your natural sense of experience, understanding, and courage. What do you love about yourself, and how can you let that love take up more space in your life? Who are you growing into, and how does your leadership, ambition, and sense of pride contribute to your personal success? What does courage look like for you?
This season’s tarotscopes feature The Moonchild Tarot and The Compendium of Constellations.
Adaptive, creative, and observant, the mutable water of Pisces offers boundless opportunities for discovery, connection, and awareness. After clarifying goals and boundaries with Capricorn, and after prioritizing personal authenticity and community growth with Aquarius, Pisces wants us to make space for dreaming, emotions, imagination. But this isn’t just floating off to sea, allowing ourselves to get lost in the waves and currents — instead, this is a chance to embrace our richest fantasies, to be honest with ourselves about what we truly crave, to celebrate our magic and show ourselves compassion. If Capricorn urged us to embrace ambition and Aquarius helped us tap into collective expansion, Pisces wants us to make space for flexibility, for connection, for illumination. In exploring the depths of the containers we have created, there’s no telling what mysteries we might uncover within our own deep, dark places.
Ruled by Neptune and associated with the major arcana archetype of the Moon, Pisces is often described as idealistic and empathetic, like they’re endlessly drifting through magic, emotion, and illusion. But there’s a purpose to all of this subconscious exploration, a power in giving weight to the swirling ether that dwells in the spaces between dreams and reality. With Pisces and the Moon, we find the wild places within us, the longings and wishes and fears that may be impacting our actions in ways that we aren’t completely aware of. What drives you, inspires you, motivates you? What holds you back, gives you pause, leaves you restless? It may feel simpler, more comfortable, to push forward with more easily defined goals and ambitions, to never interrogate the soft, subtle aches and yearnings that live within. Yet we all have feelings that fall through the cracks, little whispers of desire that are worth acknowledging. How does honoring what you want make space for compassion? If you never let yourself recognize what you crave, how can you possibly find it?
The Moon is a card of illusion, of wandering, of authenticity. After the clarity and recovery of the Star, the Moon makes space for the scary, the ugly, the uncertain. It lets us explore without any pressure to define, encourages us to roam freely without any expectations of what we might discover. Our minds, our hearts, our souls and spirits, contain so many nooks and crannies, so many secrets, so much strangeness. But there’s beauty there too, twisted up with the uncertainties and the doubts. There are treasures worth finding, if we can gather the courage to reach for them. What have you been avoiding, trying to deny, and how does it keep showing up anyway? Which natural cycles are you already flowing through, and how could you move with the currents instead of fighting every twist and turn? What if you welcomed in truth, instead of hiding from it? What might bubble up within you if you stopped trying to push it all down?
In this season of Pisces, pay attention to desires, fantasies, opportunities that may catch you off guard. Ask yourself new questions, and spend time seeking out the answers. Many of our cards for this season grapple with truth, but not in the ways that we might anticipate — instead we may find revelations coming up through conversations with trusted friends, expanding community, strange or vivid dreams. Honor the revelations that bubble up, whatever their format, and spend time meditating instead of dismissing these ideas outright for being too out there, too impossible. Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. If you know your Neptune placement, which can speak to your intuitive power as well as your blind spots, you can plug your card for this sign into the spread too in order to get a more complete picture of your Pisces season.
I’ll be opening up client readings again soon, and am also putting together some new class offerings, so if you’re eager to learn more about tarot or get some personal insights of your own, keep an eye on my social media for updates. As always with these tarot readings, take what you need and leave what you don’t. Happy Pisces season!
What decision have you been hesitant to make? Where are you seeking clarity, and where are you just stalling? You’re someone that knows who you are and what you want, but this season may find you struggling to move forward, challenging an existing idea or grappling with a complex but undeniable truth. Whether it’s new information or an old uncertainty manifesting in a surprising way, it may feel like all of your options are bad, like anything you do will result in disaster. And while it can be difficult to press on when you aren’t positive of the right move, can be frustrating to feel like you aren’t sure which way forward is the right one, staying in the same place won’t do you any favors. Acknowledge the obstacle, whether it’s internal or external — and then make the best choice that you can with the information that you have, showing yourself grace while being honest with yourself. Which path are you ready to explore? Which blade feels right in your hand?
Where have you felt activated, inspired, eager? Which ideas or efforts are you aching to defend? In this dreamy, emotional season, you may feel a familiar urge to dig in your heels, to stick to the tried-and-true, to cling to what you know. Yet this is a season of defending your beliefs and ideas, of recognizing the value that you bring to a project and the significance of what you have to offer. You’re blazing a new trail forward, whether you realize it or not, and those around you may not completely understand what you’re building. Yet your vision is a good one, and your ambitions are clear, powerful, necessary. Don’t let the doubts or resistance of others drag you down or distract you from what you’re working on. What are you willing to fight for? Where has your creativity been swelling, and how can you continue to support your own dreams, desires, passions?
Where have you been challenged, or felt shut down? Which truths have cut you deep, leaving you uncertain of who or what you can trust? This season may bring an intense realization or a harsh revelation, something that leaves you feeling a bit blindsided, causing you to doubt something that once felt absolutely certain. But rather than blaming yourself, ripping the wound open over and over again, refusing to let yourself heal, this is an opportunity to be honest with yourself about what you really want, and to consider the paths that you can take to go after your most authentic goals. Sometimes painful or illuminating experiences give us a chance to regroup, to make adjustments, to shift our focus. What are you craving, really? How does dragging things out into the open impact what you feel empowered to chase?
Which resources have you been gathering? How are you assembling a team, putting together a plan, establishing a flow? A project or goal that you’ve been working towards may hit its stride this season, generating momentum and excitement, encouraging you to keep going. And while it may be tempting to keep your efforts to yourself, to keep experimenting and creating and dreaming in secret, this is a season to celebrate the power of the community that you have built and found, and to let them support you in your new endeavors. You may be surprised by the talents that come out of the woodwork, by the ways that unexpected suggestions or inspiring ideas stimulate growth, even a sense of abundance. Who do you know that can offer wisdom, experience, assets? How do your unique gifts contribute to a larger whole?
Who has been filling your cup? How are you sharing ideas, artistry, emotions, with those you love and trust? Take time to celebrate community this season, to recognize the people that allow your dreams and desires to flow freely. There’s real magic in the sharing of joys and sorrows, in being present for people during both good times and bad. And if you’ve felt isolated lately, or haven’t been receiving the support that you’ve craved, tap into those networks of care, those friendships and chosen families that lift you up. Think about the threads of love and devotion that connect you to other people, and about ways that you can make those threads stronger, brighter. Who might need a bit of your fire, a bit of your courage? Where might you find the comfort or encouragement you’ve been craving? How do you share your overflow, your excess, with the people that you value?
Where have you been exercising restraint, and how has that felt? When do you crave moderation the most? How does slowing down create a sense of calm? After last season’s indecision and tricky choices, you may find yourself settling into a beautiful and needed routine, one that comforts and inspires in equal measure. There’s a kind of magic that lives in repeated rituals, but as you find your groove, be intentional about staying open to new experiences, new opportunities, new mysteries. If you feel a sensation of things falling into place, if something that you’ve been longing for finally starts to manifest, resist the temptation to question and interrogate, to pick this chance apart — instead let yourself find the joy in the unexpected, in feeling a bit of luck. How can you balance happy accidents with focused control? What are you discovering about yourself?
Where are you being called into consistent practices of generosity? How often are you intentional about reciprocity? Pay attention to the ways that you share resources this season, to the things that you offer to those around you and the impact that this process has. What do you have to give? How do your gifts expand into out into your community, impacting those you love? We are all connected to one another in different ways, and by offering time, space, energy, intention, care, and inspiration, as well as more tangible physical resources like money or assets, we create new connections, and strengthen existing ones. What does it mean to you to give? How willing are you to receive? How is care an extension of love? What expectations may be coming up when you give or receive, and how might that impact the way that you feel about this sharing of resources?
What is activating your creativity? Where have you felt your intuition brightening, clarifying, drawing you into something new? You may feel at home in this season of water and intuition, but a new path is opening up, one that makes space for discovery, emotion, relationship. Think about the ways that you connect with people, the parts of your heart and spirit that you grant others access to. Have you been longing to feel more seen, more deeply understood? Pay careful attention to your fantasies this season, to the nighttime visions and daytime dreams that come forward. Where are you being led? Which themes keep emerging? It’s okay to not have all of the answers, but stay open to discovery, to messages from your intuition and subconscious. How willing are you to trust the things you can’t fully define yet?
What have you been wishing for? How do you hold space for gratitude and yearning simultaneously? This season may bring opportunities for new dreams, even as you find yourself deeply satisfied with everything you have already found and created. Hopes and wishes are a special kind of magic, one you are so damn good at wielding: you’re not afraid to explore, to name what you want, to gather your courage and chase after things that others may call impossible. But in spite of how far you’ve come, aren’t you still holding out a little hope for something else? Resist the urge to judge yourself for wanting more and instead celebrate the fact that your capacity for desire continues to grow, that you are no longer placing restrictions around what you allow yourself to crave. What else can you reach for? What else do you deserve?
What ideas or systems have you been aching to disrupt, to challenge? How are you leading with truth, encouraging discernment, making decisions based on present perceptions rather than past experience? This season may feel particularly clear for you, as you wade through challenging emotions or emerging fantasies with power, understanding how much is really possible and coming up with focused plans to achieve it all. Don’t be afraid to be decisive, to trust your instincts — but in implementing new structures, consider ways that you can carve your own path rather than always doing what’s expected. How can you make a mark on the world, stretch existing ideas, create a way forward that makes space for new methods and discoveries? Which beliefs are you shedding, and how might that shift impact what you build in the future?
What are you longing to plant, to establish, to begin? You may find opportunities for grounding this season, space to dream and consider what you want for your personal future. And while you’re so good at thinking about the collective, about paying attention to the ways that individual actions contribute to broader change, take some time to consider your own ambitions, the shape that you want your own life to take. Who do you want to be when you grow up? What do you see in your future, and how do the actions of your present contribute to that vision? What seeds can you begin to gather and plant, that will eventually blossom and flower into something you can be proud of, something that will sustain you? What do you want your legacy to be, and how can you start taking small steps towards that beautiful objective?
Happy birthday, Pisces! Where has your mind felt particularly clear? Which ideas are you clinging to, even fixating on? You have a gift for navigating the complex emotional currents, the spiritual uncertainties, yet this is a season for you to clarify thoughts and ideas, beliefs, truths, to ask yourself the tougher questions. How do you balance intuition with perception? What truths do you trust the most, and where do they come from? As sharp as your mind can be, sometimes we allow our hearts to get tangled in a particular mindset, turning opinion into fact. And as you move through your season, be attentive to where you might be conflating fantasies and realities. How can you make decisions with clarity? What helps you be certain?
This season’s tarotscopes feature The Modern Witch Tarot and The Astrology Deck.
Welcome to the new year, friends. If your 2022 has been anything like mine, you may feel like you’re scrambling to keep up, wondering what this next cycle around the sun will bring. Jupiter in Pisces creates a bright new sense of hope for the future, and as we shift into intellectual, intentional Aquarius, we also invite in the possibility of dreaming. It may feel so out of reach at this point to imagine any kind of new future, yet Aquarius dares us to do just that: to envision new pathways, to consider new possibilities, to take all of the space that we’ve carved out for ourselves with loss and boundaries and decide what we want to do with it.
Aquarius is often associated with humanitarian actions: making the world a better place, working towards equality for all, carving out space for voices that are historically ignored or silenced. Able to sharpen their gaze and note what is and isn’t working, this sign of fixed air offers a uniquely curious and idealistic energy, pairing a deep sense of logic and desire for truth with a powerful drive towards progress. Carrying the focused ambition of Capricorn forward, Aquarius brings creativity and innovation to our biggest goals, expanding outward and bringing others along for the ride. No longer content to prioritize individual goals, Aquarius is concerned with the collective, with universal growth, with building opportunities for the many rather than the few. What shifts are you embracing? In solving the problems of your present, what doubts or patterns from your past are you unwilling to carry forward into your future? Think about what you’ve really chosen, versus what you’ve been handed or simply ended up with. What do you want to keep, and what are you ready to build on?
Our card for this season is the Star: an archetype of healing, hope, new growth, renewal, faith, wonder, and trust in the self. In the wake of the Devil’s temptations and the Tower’s dramatic change, the Star asks us to look at ourselves and our world after the dust has settled, after the storm has passed. What do we really see? What do we truly feel? What do we honestly want? The Star offers an opportunity for a fresh start, gently but firmly inviting us to recognize the ways that we have evolved, and making space for new choices, new decisions, new realizations. As wishes start to become clear, as our eyes find focus and our heart becomes lighter, what are we eager to reach for, to pursue, to discover? How have our priorities shifted, and what are we willing to do to get what we truly crave? And in thinking about what we want on an individual level, what do we learn about the world we want to build, about the ways that we see our contributions impacting those around us?
When we look at our goals with clear eyes (and full hearts), when we focus on our long-term desires, when we invite in healing instead of telling ourselves that we deserve to suffer, which new pathways open up? Which possibilities reveal themselves when we allow ourselves to look for them? When we shift our gaze from our daily efforts to our future visions, what changes?
From a numerological perspective, the Star as card 17 reduces down to 8, tying us to the energy of Strength. Both of these archetypes understand their value, celebrate their talents, honor their contributions. But while Strength exercises patience, maturity, and observation while pursuing their goals, the Star urges us to dream bigger, to shed the self-limiting beliefs that we confronted with the Devil during Capricorn season. Where have you been getting in your own way? The last few years of struggle have likely shown you what truly matters, what you care about the most deeply. How are you building your life, your relationships, your future, around those important pieces?
While the Star is tied to the number 8, our number for the year of 6 also points us back to the Lovers. And when we think of these two archetypes together, the theme of healing is impossible to ignore. This could be easy to simplify, tempting to gloss over — but resist the urge to tell yourself that you don’t have time for healing, that you don’t deserve the recovery and freedom and joy that comes with making space for your own needs. What are you afraid of recognizing? How would be honest with yourself about your needs, your desires, demand that you make a long-avoided change?
In this season of Aquarius, pay attention to the ways that the choices you make today will impact your tomorrows. What are you really working towards? Which limits are you ready to break free of, and where might you be ready to work with someone instead of going it alone? Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. Aquarius is traditionally ruled by Saturn, planet of boundaries and discipline, but modern astrologers also use Uranus, planet of ingenuity and discovery, so if you know your placements for these planets you can include them in this spread template for a more complete picture of your season.

As always with these tarot readings, take what you need and leave what you don’t. Happy Aquarius season!
This season will be all about balancing for you: balancing resources, balancing energy, balancing priorities. What really matters to you, and where have you been going through the motions? What new goals have you recently set, and how are you willing to adapt in order to achieve them? You’re capable of handling a lot of things at once, juggling projects, responsibilities, and collaborations with ease — but it may feel that you’re working at a pace that’s not sustainable for the long-term. Rather than pushing through until you’re burned out, be intentional about making small, incremental changes, delegating what you can and setting aside anything that you don’t actually need to be working on. How can you let your biggest dreams take up space? And what old wounds might heal when you put your most authentic dreams first, instead of downplaying what you really want?
After a season of taking charge and standing up for yourself, it may feel like something within you is shifting, hesitating. You may find yourself getting caught up in doubts or worries, slowing down or retreating into yourself. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to keep a few secrets, or working to make sure that any actions that you take or decisions that you make are well thought out — but if you feel like you can’t trust anyone around you, like someone is out to get you or like you can’t possibly succeed, take some time to interrogate that feeling and consider where it’s coming from. Are you hiding a particular motivation, desire, fear, not only from others, but from yourself? Are you afraid to take a bold action, make a hard decision, initiate a major conversation? Give yourself the space to be honest with yourself, and interrogate what is holding you back. How can you grab a blade with confidence, instead of hiding from your own fierceness?
A bold new idea or creative vision may take you by storm this season, pushing you to begin something powerful, something original, something intoxicating. Give yourself plenty of room to explore and expand, chasing down different possibilities and allowing for experimentation, collaboration, and joy, rather than trying to control every outcome. What happens when you let yourself play, get messy, make mistakes? Which unexpected opportunities appear when you widen your gaze, open your heart? Aquarius isn’t afraid to be inventive and original, and you, dear Gemini, are someone who is rarely at a loss for ways to spend your time. Pay attention to what captures your fancy, piques your curiosity, pushes you to ask questions and explore new avenues, and don’t be afraid to get lost in all of the excitement that you can feel building within and around you. This is a time for magic, for sparks of dazzling, captivating energy — what is lighting you up?
If last season found you struggling with anxiety, uncertainty, or deep and difficult fears, Aquarius season may bring a sensation of calm, protection, and stability — but it comes at a cost. Sometimes when we feel vulnerable, we close ourselves off, pushing others away and rebuffing attempts to offer support, kindness, or advice. Yet healing is rarely a solitary experience, and you may find that allowing others to see you in this tender state brings opportunities for deep recovery, awareness, and connection, beyond what you thought would be possible. Where are your boundaries a little too sharp? In working to protect your heart, where are you cutting people out? Show yourself love, grace, and compassion by allowing yourself to accept love from the people that care about you, that keep showing up. Be brave enough to ask for the help and support you may need, rather than punishing yourself for past mistakes. How do community and chosen family encourage us to grow?
Think about the larger cycles you’ve been in, the bigger goals you’ve been pursuing, the broader dreams you’ve been captivated by. What have you achieved? Who are you now, that a past version of you might barely recognize? This is a season for celebration, for acknowledgement, for joy and wonder and pride. You have become someone powerful, someone brilliant, someone teeming with magic that is unique and necessary — and this is an opportunity to revel in that sensation of completion, to think about the promises that you’ve made to yourself and the ways that you’ve kept them. The World is not an archetype of everything being perfect, of every goal being achieved. But it is a call to step back from movement and prioritize rest, pleasure, satisfaction. You are allowed, encouraged even, to honor how far you have come. What have you accomplished? How have you changed? What story have you been writing, and in concluding this chapter, what might you be considering turning your attention towards next?
You can be a bit of a perfectionist, Virgo, but that trait often serves you well — inspiring you to push harder, be creative in your problem solving, and pay attention to small details that others might miss in their haste to finish and move on to the next project. However, this season may find you caught up in a tricky decision, uncertain of how to move forward, or perhaps intimidated by the pressure of choosing correctly. And in situations where both options present possibilities, either good or bad, it may be tempting to dig in your heels, cover your eyes, and try to avoid making a choice altogether. But you’re better than this, dear friend, and are fully capable of moving forward on your own, of choosing the next step in your journey with confidence and courage. What resonates the most for you? What are you drawn to? Trust your instincts here, rather than getting stuck in endless loops of analysis, and give yourself the gift of decisiveness. How is it healing to have faith in yourself? Which path will bring you closer to your ultimate goal?
After last season’s dazzling progress and joyful collaboration, Aquarius may startle you with an unexpected heartbreak. And for someone like you who is so good at finding balance, building harmony, and hearing every perspective on a situation, it may be tempting for you to make excuses for someone’s bad behavior, to try and justify their actions even when those actions cause harm. But you are allowed to make space for hurt feelings, dear Libra, and it may be that the path to healing begins by acknowledging what is really bothering you. Whether this betrayal was intentional or not, whether it was done to you or you are the one that caused this pain, be brave and confront the situation head on. Clarity and honesty are the only way through his particular challenge, so resist the urge to pretend everything is fine and instead be intentional about actually repairing the damage. How can you show yourself compassion by being truthful about your struggles?
Sweet Scorpio, you spend so much of your time in the dark, the underworld, the hidden secrets and deepest shadows. Yet this season wants you to step into the sunshine and celebrate the powerful community, essential chosen family, and beautiful partnerships that you have established. Who have you been investing in, and how has your vulnerability paid off? When have you allowed yourself to be fully, truly seen? This is a card of sweet, daily joys, of the gentle but powerful ways that we build strong, ongoing connections — and as you move into Aquarius season, consider who you see as part of your future. What are your most foundational friendships, relationships, partnerships? Who matches your energy, lifts your spirits, challenges your doubts? Take time to celebrate the people that mean the most to you, that hold your heart in capable hands. What does it mean to love fiercely, and to have that love returned tenfold?
Last season made a lot of space for reflection, interrogation, and awareness — and now that you know more about who you are, what you want, and where you want to go, Aquarius wants you to begin working towards those goals with purpose, determination, and focus. What is driving you, and how are you investing in your biggest and most personal ambitions? Which resources are you comfortable tapping into, and where might you have more opportunities for guidance, support, and encouragement than you realize? There’s a fine line between strength and stubbornness, so if you find yourself digging in your heels or turning down help over and over, take a step back and consider why that is. Where is discipline helping, and where might it be causing more harm than good? Is the path that you’re on somewhere you actually have to go alone? Would a little bit of comfort, of rest, of perspective, really be that bad?
Your season may have brought a sense of chaos, confusion, or lack of control, which has perhaps brought up some feelings of frustration or a deep desire to find your power again. And as you move into Aquarius season, you’ll settle into some new patterns of stability and growth, beginning to find solid ground once again. In considering all that has happened over the last few seasons, in tracing your own cycles of growth and release, pay attention to the ways that you engage with community through resources, energy, time, space, knowledge, and inspiration. What kinds of support have you received lately? How much are you giving, and how much are you taking? This is not to shame you or push you to part with more of your resources than you are capable of — rather, it’s an opportunity to be more intentional about input and output, to engage with the people around you in ways that are true, powerful, helpful. Where can you be generous? What are you lacking that someone else can provide? When is reciprocity supportive, even sacred?
Happy birthday, Aquarius! As you soar into your own season, eager to analyze and reimagine systems, work as a collective, and generate powerful new ideas, pay careful attention to your relationship with control, power, and repetitive behaviors. What makes you feel free, and what creates a sensation of restriction? Where are you willing to indulge, and what makes you feel like you’re going too far, taking too much? The road to hell is paved with good intentions, as they say, and while this can be a rather stuffy proverb, it has some merit — what is driving your choices, really? What hidden motivations might you be reluctant to analyze? Where might you be lying to yourself, unwilling to admit where you’re in over your head? There’s no shame in asking for help, changing course, or taking a beat to reconsider a choice, and you may find that being honest about where you are with those that you trust can help you get back on a path towards joy and growth rather than getting lost in old destructive patterns. What have you been obsessing over?
It may feel like this season is impossibly expansive for you, with possibilities shimmering around every corner, hope lighting a fire within you, major dreams on the verge of coming true. This archetype is so often associated with luck and change, and for you, dear Pisces, Aquarius season may bring some important revelations and some powerful opportunities for growth. What has been building, that you’re ready to take a chance on? Be aware of the sensation of things falling into place, of ideas of inevitability, of transformative shifts that open new doorways and inspire new ideas — where are you in control, and where does it make more sense to surrender to gravity? The choices that you’ve been making, that the people around you have been making, so often have consequences that we don’t always recognize at the time, so work to be conscious of your place in the cosmos this season. What are you putting your faith in?
This season’s tarotscopes feature The Muse Tarot and the Compendium of Constellations.
Sagittarius season encouraged us to find joy and freedom, exploring and expanding, balancing a desire to move with a need to find stable ground. And after gathering new ideas, questioning, and clarifying, Capricorn season’s cardinal earth helps us set new goals, secure powerful foundations, and lay the groundwork for success. If you’ve been craving something solid, if you’ve been dreaming of rational plans and steady progress, this is the time to get moving. With Capricorn, we rely on ourselves to get shit done.
Known for ambition, drive, focus, and determination, Capricorns are the ones you want by your side when turning big dreams into tangible goals. Taking all of the crackling fire and powerful ideas from Sagittarius season, we can now break these wishes and hopes into practical steps, figuring out which resources, skills, and assets we need in order to make our dreams come true. Yet the Sun’s shift into Capricorn also marks the winter solstice, a time of quiet recovery, deep healing, gentle awareness. Capricorn may be known for their drive and ambition, but they also understand the importance of purpose, of keeping the reason for their work front and center. When we know what we crave, when we make the space to balance work and play, we truly can make our dreams come true. Capricorn balances hard work and powerful pursuit with grounded pleasure, giving us the space to remember who we are.
The major arcana archetype that corresponds with Capricorn is the Devil, a much-maligned archetype associated with addiction, toxic behavior, destruction, chaos, and pain. The Devil is less about an outside force that comes sweeping in to fuck up your life and more about the ways that we might sabotage ourselves: falling for old temptations, slipping into familiar patterns that distract us from the things that we really want, losing perspective in a way that distorts our recognition of the truth. Sometimes, letting ourselves get a little wild, take some chances, release our death grip on control, can be exactly what we need to shake ourselves free of obsession and remember who we are. But other times, harmful behaviors are exactly what they seem, and in getting caught up in relationships that hurt us, situations that leave us feeling unsafe, or dynamics that lead us to doubt ourselves, we can experience major setbacks. It’s important to be conscious about our choices, rather than letting ourselves get swept up or pulled down into something that we haven’t actually chosen, something that we don’t truly want.
When you think about destructive habits or unhealthy cycles, what comes up for you? Where do you struggle to exercise control, and where is your control so tight that you allow yourself no room for possibility or growth? Where does it feel impossible to say no? Aspirations, hard work, goal-setting, and determination are generally framed as useful, positive things — but taken to the extreme and we can end up hurting others or ourselves with obsessive focus, or a willingness to abandon important things for the sake of our ambition. Where have you been compromising?
In this season of Capricorn, remember to step back from you work sometimes, to give yourself the gift of perspective. What are you working towards, and why? Where do this goal originate, and how is it important? Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the planet of boundaries and limits, so if you know your Saturn placement you can also include that in this spread for a more detailed picture of your upcoming season.

Brimming with fire, drive, and motivation, your natural magic may feel amplified as you step into the focused, powerful energy of Capricorn. Cardinal seasons likely seem particularly productive for you, Aries, as you’re someone that loves to start new projects and taken on challenging new ambitions — and as you light fires and inspire everyone around you, lean into your creative problem solving abilities, as well as your capacity for collaboration. You may be a trail blazer, someone used to going it alone, but when we combine our magic, ideas, and instincts, the sky truly is the limit. What are you building, and how do your visions of the future carve out space for lasting change? What are you chasing, and how can those around you keep you focused and motivated?
A figure of sensuality, connection, and purpose, the queen of earth often reminds us to be present in the moment, to chase our dreams without sacrificing comfort or pleasure. And as a person of fixed earth, you may feel that you can relate deeply to this brilliant, badass ruler of resources, wealth, health, and security. As you move into ambitious Capricorn season, don’t be afraid to be clear about what you want, to pursue your dreams with focus, to stand up for your own needs and desires. Goals and objectives don’t always have to be completely practical — you’re also allowed to prioritize love, joy, satisfaction, and fulfillment. How are you caring for your physical body, in a way that makes space not just for needs but also for wants? What does it mean to draw firm lines between work, play, rest, and discovery?
Of all of the signs of the zodiac, you might relate to the energy of the Magician the most: bursting with ideas, eager to share and collaborate, gathering information and insights, dazzling everyone around you with all of the possibilities you hold at your fingertips. You are someone that is often on the move, juggling multiple projects, always eager to try the next thing or ask the next question — and this season, indulge that creative flow to the best of your ability. If you’ve been nurturing a big dream, preparing to begin something, feeling that bubbling joy of anticipation about what you’re ready to chase next, lean in! What are the different ways that you could achieve your goals? How many pathways forward do you see, and what would you need to make them real? What does it feel like to dream?
Sweet Cancer, you are so good at taking care of yourself, at protecting your heart, at creating safe spaces that allow you to recover and consider and heal. But sometimes, your natural tendency to hold something back can lead to real isolation — and while being private has its benefits, in this new season of Capricorn you may find that it also comes at a cost. You may find yourself struggling with intrusive thoughts or heightened anxiety this season, letting fears overtake you and not being able to find a grounded sense of perspective. It happens to all of us, but the solution is not to continue withdrawing but instead to reach out to the people that love you, the people that you trust. Things are not as bad as you may believe them to be, but it may be impossible for you to see the truth of your circumstances on your own. Who do you love, and how can you allow them to help you? What makes you feel safe, and how can you give yourself the gift of security?
Last season may have found you overflowing with ideas and energy, gathering resources for a big new journey and dreaming of all of the possibilities that your work could inspire. And as you move into Capricorn season, this is the time to slow down, sharpen your perspective, and consider the ways that your efforts have the capacity to change the world. You are known for your courage, your strength, the personal power and magnetism that dwells within you — and in embracing the magic that you carry, you can also have an impact on everyone around you. What do you want to change? What do you see in the world that you are ready to devote yourself to healing? Who can you lend your voice to? Justice often brings moments of decision, when we are called to invest in something bigger than ourselves. What will you do with all of your magic?
Observant and grounded with mutable earth, you are known for your ability to adapt to the changing circumstances around you, and your capacity to make everything you touch function and prosper. But as you move into ambitious Capricorn season, you may find yourself focusing more on your own ideas, your own insights, your own sense of truth. The ace of voices often represents a flash of awareness, a shift in perspective that causes you to reevaluate something that you may have preciously considered solid. And for you, clever Virgo, this may inspire you to ask more questions, to explore ideas from new viewpoints. What does it mean to interrogate your own wisdom, to make space for alternative concepts or beliefs? How can expanding your mind lead to new kinds of growth?
As you continue to work towards a long-term goal, it may feel like things are clicking into place in a new and exciting way this season. Materials and pentacles are tied to resources, but that’s not just about money: it also refers to energy, community, drive, power, time, space, even a sense of commitment. What is coming into focus for you? How are you viewing your big projects and ambitious desires in a new way? Don’t be afraid to accept help from others, particularly those that offer new perspectives or insights — you never know where inspiration may come from, and the people that you trust and value may have a lot to offer. Which resources have you not fully tapped into yet? As you see your visions begin to come to life, how can you be deliberate about recognizing what you still need?
As you move into focused, purposeful Capricorn season, you may find yourself a bit frustrated at your own rather scattered energy. Sometimes when we take on too much at once, or try to move forward too quickly, we forget about the objectives that matter most and get caught up in petty drama, vague new ideas, or conflict with no real purpose. You’re so good at thoughtful self-reflection and deep investigation, Scorpio, but if you find yourself getting lost down a rabbit hole, take a deep breath and come back to yourself. What are you really working towards, and why is it important? What are you getting distracted by? You have everything that you need to accomplish your goals, but you may need to change the way that you’re pursuing them in order to get back on track. How have you gotten lost, and what will it take to find your way forward again?
Curious, energetic, and eager to understand, this season may find you looking inward, asking yourself the complex and elusive questions that you love to unpack. The Hermit is a figure of wisdom and patience, someone that is willing to do the hard work of peering around every internal corner, investigating every possible question — and you may find that in turning your searching gaze inward, you learn a lot of new things about who you are, what you want, and where you hope to go. Don’t be afraid to shake up your daily routines and habits, to step back from your usual patterns and be deliberate about this work. It’s often when we’re willing to engage with our own mysteries that they become clear. What do you not know about yourself, and how can you find the answers you seek?
Happy birthday, Capricorn! This season may bring some upheaval, shaking free revelations and pushing you to release something that is no longer working. The Tower can be a frightening archetype, as we tend to focus on themes of chaos and destruction — but there is also deep, permanent, powerful freedom in breaking free of old dreams, old expectations, old patterns that have restricted or curtailed our growth. And in allowing ourselves to let go of something we’ve been desperately clinging to, we find ourselves lighter, more open, able to move with greater flexibility. What are you ready to walk away from? This archetype isn’t always about being presented with a choice, but rather about something happening that forces our hand — and as you move through this shift, remember to show yourself grace, kindness, compassion. How might this change allow you to experience the growth and progress you’ve been craving?
Choosing ourselves can be a difficult thing. Even for someone like you, who is so good at pulling back and seeing the bigger picture, there are times when we are so deeply entrenched in a relationship, job, community, ambition, pattern, or situation that we cannot see the other side of it, cannot imagine walking away from it. Yet the eight of emotions asks us to do just that: to put ourselves first, to stop indulging toxic behaviors or destructive patterns. This season, you may find that something you’ve been trying to fix for a long time finally breaks for good, forcing you to acknowledge that there’s nothing left to be done. And while this can be a painful moment, it’s also an opportunity for healing, as well as an invitation to begin a new journey. In releasing something old, how are you making space for something new? How can you take your heart back?
While Capricorn season is often seen as a time of productivity and focused drive, you remember the other, more subtle aspects of this energy: the awareness of who we are, the impact we have on those around us, the power that we hold as individuals participating in community with one another. Winter and the solstice is a time of reflection, healing, and recovery, and you may find yourself in a position of leadership and guidance, helping others remember what is compelling them to pursue their goals. Where do dreams come from? What does it mean to value our intuition and emotions? The objectives that Capricorn helps us pursue all started with a gentle internal buzzing, a building need to create or achieve or discover — and you have the capacity to offer this reminder to others, to inspire them to keep chasing those dreams. How do you build community? Where is your heart leading you?

We’ve taken our time in Scorpio season to grieve, to reflect, to grant ourselves time for acknowledgement and respectful goodbyes. And in the wake of Death, as we emerge from the endless depths of fixed water, Sagittarius comes blazing in with its mutable fire and powerful, passionate energy. With endless questions, a craving for exploration, and a need to balance understanding with mystery, this season is one for philosophy, travel, adventure, and new knowledge. Welcome to the wildfire that is Sagittarius season.
Like other mutable signs, Sagittarius is flexible, curious, adaptive, resilient, and creative, solving problems and making adjustments that allow us to finish important projects and reach essential conclusions. And like other fire signs, Sagittarius is independent, enthusiastic, driven, expansive, passionate, and adventurous, always looking for more, always questioning what they find. But on the heels of intense Scorpio and in the transition from autumn to winter here in the northern hemisphere, Sagittarius brings its own special kind of magic, its own brilliant inventiveness and sparkling inquisitiveness. There’s an abundance present here, a sense of luck and joy that defines this magnetic and changeable sign. Sagittarius longs to understand, not just the facts and truth of a situation but the underlying meaning attached to it. This is not exploration for knowledge’s sake, but rather a desire to unearth and excavate, to find the treasures that others may not take the time to discover. This is a hunger for truth, one that’s no longer weighed down by everything Scorpio helped us to surrender.
Associated with the major arcana archetype of Temperance, Sagittarius works to balance their eagerness to move with the power of their convictions. Temperance is a card of harmony, moderation, and awareness, urging us to make space for both the known and the unknown, the proven and the mystery, the anticipated and the unexpected. This is an archetype of magic and mystery, those unexplainable coincidences, the moments when things just seem to fall into place through no efforts of our own. Sagittarius has a lot of space for things that they cannot dissect, and can teach us so much about play, observation, joy, freedom, and movement. After the necessary goodbyes of Scorpio, what new motion are we free to embrace with Sagittarius? What are we eager to question, ready to understand, yearning to explore? When you start to color outside of the lines, what new discoveries change your perspective?
So many of our cards for this season find us in a home stretch, gathering our resources and making decisions about where we want to be, who we want to become. But in many ways Sagittarius wants us to explore, to leave ourselves space to roam and dream and get a little lost.In this season of Sagittarius, don’t be afraid to play, experiment, wander. What if you let yourself discover different pathways into yourself, instead of obsessing about the finish line?Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. If you know your Jupiter placement, you can also include that card in your spread for a more complete picture of your Sagittarius season.
My first piece for Wired was published recently, exploring the challenges of metaphysical businesses when dealing with Stripe and other payment processors. I’m also thrilled to be working with Sovereignty Herbs on a ritual, tarot, and herbalism collection that honors the Moon and Star archetypes, which is available for preorder now. As always with these tarot readings, take what you need and leave what you don’t. Happy Sagittarius season!
As we move into a season of fire, you may find yourself eager to pursue big ambitions, feeling lighter and finding inspiration in everything you do. And while your natural fire is heightened by this season of joyful exploration and powerful curiosity, don’t forget to let your intuition and emotion be part of your work. Your passion is so often focused into your biggest objectives and brightest dreams, but you also have a big heart, one that you may not spend as much time exploring. Give yourself an opportunity to do some internal explorations as well, letting your heart lead you down unexpected paths. What would it mean to balance your brilliant fire with soothing water? How would it feel to take time for romance, connection, community, and compassion?
You may find yourself carrying some of the grief from the last season forward, as your heart feels more exposed, perhaps more fragile, than usual. You’re a tender soul, and while many may see you as determined and stubborn, there’s a gentleness to your spirit that may need some extra care and tending this season. If you’re experiencing a period of heartbreak, be extra kind to yourself. And if you find yourself grieving something that’s lost or changed, give yourself the space that you need to process those heavy emotions. How can you rely on community to help you through challenging emotional situations? What burdens can you share with those that love you? And in acknowledging any sadness or sorrow that you’re feeling, how can you release it in a way that clears a new path forward?
It may feel like you’re firing on all cylinders this season, able to make important decisions and juggle different ideas with ease, power, and grace. Your natural sense of logic and ability to collaborate with many people at once is a real gift, and as you find yourself exploring new realms of thought, community, and legacy, pay attention to the different perspectives that you’re exposed to. How comfortable do you feel being in charge, and how often do you let others take the lead? What are you ready to move forward with, and which goals require more research, more information, more planning? Don’t be afraid to shake things up — you may have opportunities to move in a new and perhaps unexpected direction, but you’re smart and observant enough to make decisions that serve your long-term ambitions. How are you assessing opportunities? Where are you ready to grow?
After the rich emotion and deep personal exploration that you embodied last season, it may feel like you’re tightening up the protections around your heart, moving into a more pragmatic, logical, observant mindset. There can be real power here, a kind of wisdom and clarity that comes when we take our heart out of the equation and let our mind rule the day. Give yourself the space to assess things clearly and truthfully, being honest with yourself about what you need as well as what you’re dreaming about. Yet as you move into this more practical headspace, don’t lose sight of your emotions, your empathy, your natural sensitivity. How can you protect yourself while still being real about what you want? How can you balance logic with love?
Your bold visions and captivating ideas are even more inspiring than usual this season, as it feels like the sky is the limit and absolutely anything is possible. Whatever big dreams you’ve been having are giving you joy, motivation, and a hunger to move, so pay attention to the doorways that seem to be opening, the internal voices that are crying out for growth, expansion, and taking chances. What have you been fantasizing about, itching for, craving? If you could reach for all of your wildest dreams, which one would you go for first? Spend some time considering all of your options this season, paying attention to the opportunities that are the most appealing, the most exciting. What are you ready to pursue? Where are your passions leading you? Which open door do you want to run through?
Last season may have forced some big decisions, particularly around emotions, community, and intuition — but this season you may find yourself in a place of calm power, deep contentment, and complete satisfaction. You’re not always someone that knows how to slow down and enjoy the moment, detail-oriented as you are, so give yourself permission this season to be present, to be comfortable, to let joy and fulfillment flow through you like water. What have you been learning about yourself? How do you celebrate success? Before you know it, a new goal will likely reveal itself, putting you back on a path of reaching and growth — but for now, give yourself a chance to reflect, to take pride in your accomplishments and recognize just how far you’ve come. How do you mark your milestones? How can you share your triumph? What does victory look like to you?
Something that you’ve been working towards for a long time may be coming to a triumphant conclusion, yet you may feel that your energy is waning, your willingness to keep pushing starting to fade. Perseverance is a powerful force, but there’s also real wisdom in knowing your needs, in recognizing when it’s time to slow down, take a break, or ask for help. What resources do you have available for this final effort? What assumptions are you working under that might be more flexible than you realize? Reaching that finish line is important, but balance your determination with opportunities for healing, reflection, and care. Achieving your goals but being too burned out to enjoy it is not ideal, but if you are careful and gracious with yourself, you can get everything that you want and still have the energy to celebrate those victories. What do you need to succeed? And how can you keep your internal fires burning brightly instead of dwindling down to embers?
This season may find you isolating yourself, reluctant to share your fears, anxieties, or concerns with those around you. And while you have a tendency to be private, there are times when we need to ask for help, need to trust the people that we love to care for us in times of struggle or sorrow. Your mind is playing tricks on you, your perspective is likely skewed, and you’re not seeing things clearly — and when this happens, we need someone else to help us find our way out of the darkness, to get back into a safe place. Instead of telling yourself that you’re brave and strong and don’t need anybody, give yourself permission to lean on those you love, to accept care and tenderness from chosen family and trusted support systems. Asking for help is not a weakness, but rather a form of strength. How can you show yourself compassion? What will help you see the world and its challenges more clearly?
Happy birthday, Sagittarius! As we move into your season of dazzling movement and crackling fire, it may feel that the balancing act you were in last season is allowing you to evaluate your place in the world with new clarity. When we start new things, when we clarify ambitions, it often means that we need to make adjustments, to clear space for the new seeds we want to plant and cultivate. And if you’ve been recognizing a sense of dissatisfaction, a frustration or shutting down of emotion, it may be time for you to leave a difficult situation, relationship, or dream behind. Choosing yourself is an option, and in prioritizing your own comfort and needs over someone else’s, you open up so many new pathways for growth, evolution, and empowerment. What will sustain your long-term efforts? How can you show yourself the love and freedom that you so often give to everyone else first?
Last season was about getting organized, clarifying your purpose, and taking a long, hard look at everything you’ve been creating. And as we move into playful, curious Sagittarius season, give yourself a chance to shine, to be seen, to feel joy in all that you’ve been working towards. How often do you let yourself be proud of what you’re doing, who you’re becoming? How have you been standing on your own two feet, building something that is uniquely yours? How is your vision manifesting in the world? It may feel like you have to defend your work or your ideas this season, doubling down on all of the things that you want to create — but these kinds of challenges often have a way of helping us grow, pushing us to be certain about what we want and release any old baggage or fears that aren’t serving us. How can you create systems of artistic support for yourself? What helps you remember your magic when it feels like you’re the only one who can see it?
As you continue down your path of growth and discovery, you may find yourself craving structure, systems, order. So much of last season was about assessment, and you may be realizing how many of your choices have been driven by a bit of fear, a scarcity mindset making you more risk-averse than usual. But systems can help us feel in control, can give us a sense of power, can help us know what we’re doing so that we can feel stable and confident about all that we’re building for our future. As you get organized and begin to make more solid plans for your future, give yourself a bit of flexibility, some room to play and experiment. Craving control over your present and your future doesn’t mean shutting every single door — instead it’s an opportunity to clarify your wants and needs, to set a purpose for your own future. How can you create systems of support for your biggest and brightest dreams? What do you need in order to keep building and growing? What resources can you gather for yourself?
You’ve been taking time to clarify what you want, to refine your gifts, to understand all that you are truly capable of. And now that you know what you’re craving and have a clear path ahead, it’s time to put your nose to the ground and get shit done. You already have a lot of natural talent and skill, gifts that have served you well in the past — but this season is about putting those dreams into tangible practice, investing in yourself and your future by getting even better at something that matters to you. However you expand your own knowledge and experience, do so with intention and purpose, thinking about how the work you’re doing now will impact your path in the months and years ahead. What do you want to be known for? What do you hope your legacy will be? How are you shaping your own future by working hard in your present? And as you think about the ways that you are enacting change in your life, what skills or abilities do you want to master?

After seasons of careful observation and intentional balancing, Scorpio is here to help us transition. This time of fixed water brings depth, intensity, and thoughtful but pointed awareness, as we take the lessons from previous seasons and apply them to our most secret selves. In seeing the world for how it is with Libra’s perceptive clarity and ability to lift every voice, Scorpio helps us to separate the things that matter from the things that don’t, to discard the waste, to acknowledge and release decay so that we can instead invest our energy in the things that we want to grow. We all carry things that we don’t need, things that we’re afraid to let go of, things that are unnecessarily draining our energy. With Scorpio, we’re called to honor natural endings, clearing space and making room for the new life that future seasons will bring.
Our birth card for this season is Death, an archetype that people tend to have a rather visceral reaction to. While this card in readings rarely heralds a tangible, physical death, it does symbolize an inevitable conclusion: something departing, a permanent loss. This card isn’t just the loss itself, but also the things that follow. Rot, compost, decay, corrosion, decomposition — these words might not inspire you immediately, might not fill you with joy or possibility or optimism. But these are intensely powerful forces, natural cycles that cleanse and revitalize, making way for new life. Seeds that are only activated by forest fires, mushrooms that bloom in ash, dandelions that grow in toxic soil to purify the area for future life: these are not accidents, but rather essential energies, rhythms that keep the world turning. We need death in order to function, in order to thrive.
The power of death is in its contrast to life. “Flowers bloom until they rot and fall apart,” Eurydice sings in Hadestown, grieving the mortality she surrendered even as she struggles to remember the fleeting beauty of life. We enjoy the bloom of a flower on its own: its scent and its softness, the way that the petals curve, the velvety textures that soothe our fingers and tickle our noses. But knowing that this blossom is temporary, that it can’t and won’t last forever, makes it even more special, more sweet. Life has more depth, more magic, because it’s not everlasting. And in recognizing the power, the importance, the necessity of death, we can grant ourselves more sovereignty in the living. We can honor what we have while we have it, and say goodbye to it when the time comes. What have you been clinging to, refusing to let go of even though in truth, it’s already gone? Which patterns, dreams, relationships, ambitions, expectations, hopes, are you ready to set free? And in unbinding ourselves from these old beliefs or assumptions, how do we find new freedoms stretching out before us? In letting go of old versions of the self, which new ones can we welcome with open arms?
Many of our cards for this new season ask us to grapple with our deepest wants and desires, to acknowledge hidden longings or explore our own sense of truth with clarity and purpose. In this season of Scorpio, remember the transformative freedom of Death, the ways that we give up the old things to clear space for the new, the opportunities that definitive endings can create. Experienced tarot readers or astrologers can plug the cards I’ve drawn for their sun, moon, and rising signs into the spread below to create a custom reading for this season. Scorpio is traditionally ruled by Mars, the planet of passion and ambition, and modern astrologers also recognize a second rulership with Pluto, the planet of transformation. If you know your placements for either or both of these planets, you can include them in your reading for a more complete picture of your Scorpio season.

After last season’s quiet analysis and careful contemplation, Scorpio season may find your internal fires burning brightly again, as creative inspiration strikes and new projects take flight. The depths of this season may bring new intensity to your work and play, helping you balance all of your natural heat and ambition with purpose, power, and deep personal magic. What inspires you, delights you, captivates you? Where does your inspiration come from, and how often do you let it flow freely instead of trying to channel it into a specific ambition or objective? Take pride in your natural confidence, your joyful charisma, your exciting achievements — but give yourself space to dream too. Connections are important, and allowing space for collaborative vision instead of only focusing on individual success may be the key to unlocking your next big victory. How can self-awareness help you build something truly magical?
This season may bring whiffs of doubt or worry, even melancholy, as you struggle with a sense of lack. Whether something physical slows you down or you find yourself concerned with money, job opportunities, or housing issues, you may get caught up in stress, worrying about what to do and how to create lasting stability. Particularly if you’ve recently started down a new path, you may find yourself discouraged, sensitive to limited resources and frustrated that you aren’t finding immediate success on this latest venture. However — and this is important — these feelings may not actually reflect reality, and you likely have access to both help from others as well as actual, tangible resources that you can use to get yourself into a more comfortable place. Show yourself grace, compassion, and remember that the best things often take time and patience to achieve and sustain. Who is offering you assistance, and why are you reluctant to take it? What beliefs or mindsets are limiting your ability to lean on others for support?
It may feel that you have a new sense of stability, confidence, and power this season, as resources are abundant and you’re able to take charge of the different aspects of your life in beautiful and necessary ways. If last season was all crackling fire and curious winds, this one brings patient earth and soothing water, providing grounding, sensuality, purpose, and awareness. You may love the rush of new things and intersecting projects, but how might slowing down and enjoying your present help you feel more secure about your future? Where could a more long-term plan give you the comfort you’ve been craving? Take a closer look at the assets you have available, beyond finances: how do you have access to energy, community, space, time, inspiration, movement, joy? How do you cultivate spaces of safety and protection, and where can you invest in your own happiness? What are some ways that you can build simple pleasures into your daily routines?
There may be opportunities for movement and adventure this season, as your heart opens wide and a desire for connection and community manifests. Emotions may run high, and you might find yourself swept up in romance and idealism, looking at the world with rose-tinted glasses. Be on the lookout for new chances to build relationships, particularly ways that you can take initiative or invite someone else in.
There can be deep magic and incredible joy that comes from intimacy, but your natural desire for privacy may create friction with this new eagerness to see and be seen. Maintaining control over your emotions and setting boundaries for your heart may not feel like a difficult thing for you to do — but rather than fighting to limit the access that you grant to others, consider the balance that you allow between sharing and secrecy, the ways that you give your emotions the freedom to flow. Who do you let in? How much do you let others see, hear, touch? When feelings are overwhelming you, or your intuition feels hard to grasp, where do you turn?
After all of the inspiration and new adventures that last season may have brought, Scorpio season is a time for contemplation, awareness, and intuition. Even if you’re eager to keep moving forward, to build and create and connect, give yourself some intentional time for stillness and observation, tapping into your own personal wisdom and deep natural insights. What are you longing for? What are you doing that’s feeding your spirit, and what is dragging you down?
As you consider the paths that stretch out before you, the opportunities and possibilities that you have access to, trust that your heart can guide you in the right direction. There may be different directions that you can grow in, but in giving yourself space to actually consider your options, you may find yourself craving something specific, something you hadn’t recognized before. How can you make choices that resonate with you, no matter what anyone else may say? Where do you feel called, and how will you answer that call?
Your natural flexibility and talent for spotting important details can be a real asset when making decisions and considering opportunities — but you may find that this season, you’re caught up in the fantasies of different futures, letting your imagination run wild and spin into dozens of different directions. This isn’t to say that you shouldn’t daydream, that there’s no room for hope or wishing or speculation. Rather, it’s a reminder that at the end of the day, you won’t be able to follow every single path, won’t be able to pursue every single idea or longing or desire.
You have one wild and precious life, and it’s worth letting your biggest dreams take up space and guide your actions. Give yourself the room you need to explore your truest self, to listen to your intuition and honor the paths that make your breath catch, your heart skip a beat. When you think about the life you want, the community your crave, the fulfillment you long for, what does it look like? What’s there, and what isn’t? And in allowing yourself the chance to say no to certain paths forward, how can your yeses feel more certain?
Last season may have brought up some tender things, as you worked to adjust your personal narratives and gave yourself permission to pursue the kind of life that you want. And as we move into this time of Scorpio, pay attention to the sparks that fly when you’re with certain people, whether they’re colleagues, friends, partners, or community members. What does it mean to see pieces of yourself reflected in another person? How do you recognize your soul mates? What happens when you find someone that just gets you, sees you, honors you?
Take time to thoughtfully and intimately invest in your people this season, being intentional about the ways that you connect and collaborate. How does sharing your heart with others help you see yourself with new clarity? What do you learn about yourself through your relationships? In pursuing deeper bonds with those you already care for, how do you show yourself kindness, and allow yourself to be more fully loved?
Happy birthday, Scorpio!
As we slip into your season of intensity, connection, and release, pay attention to the fantasies, fears, and aspirations that come forward, either in dreams or in waking. What is your subconscious trying to tell you? What problems, desires, illusions are you trying to untangle and identify? Last season’s emphasis on truth, perception, and clarity may have helped you identify your own needs around boundaries and protection, but now is the time for you to grapple with your ideas and assumptions around safety. You may generally be comfortable digging through secrets and shadows, but new truths can be uncovered when you stop trying to control your own cravings and instead surrender to the wildness within. What are you feeling drawn to, and what is keeping you from exploring more thoroughly? How can you show yourself compassion in light of your most hidden worries and wishes?
On the heels of a season bursting with curiosity, investigation, and intellectual exploration, you may feel on top of the world, like you’re managing all of your tasks and responsibilities with ease. And to your credit, you absolutely are! The new seeds that you’ve planted are beginning to take root, and you’re caring for them diligently while also maintaining your existing duties, balancing everything beautifully. As joyful and empowering as this sensation can be, though, be cautious — all of the work that you’re doing will eventually start to take its toll, and the number of things that you are juggling may eventually become overwhelming. Rather than letting yourself to get to a place of burnout or frustration, begin to consider adjustments that you can make, jobs you can delegate. Where do you actually want to invest your time, energy, resources? What can you surrender to someone else, creating opportunities to put more of yourself into the things that matter most?
You’re known for your practicality, ambition, and authority — and as we move into this season of deep, dark waters and intense emotions, your impulse may be to focus on creating new structures and boundaries for protection. Growth is happening all around you, and in being disciplined about your time, energy, resources, and long-term goals, those big objectives become easier to envision. What are you working on, that could use some planning and organization? What are you the master of, and where are you trying to find control, power, agency? Where is structure aiding you, helping you, giving you safety and control even as you keep dreaming — and where might it be holding you back, limiting your growth instead of inspiring it? There’s nothing wrong with discipline, with ambition, but don’t let your focus be so obsessive on achievement that you lose the joy of creation, inspiration, and collaboration along the way. What kind of control are you really craving?
You may feel a real sense of stability this season, as the work that you’ve been putting into long-term goals and ambitions continues to build in deeply satisfying and tangible ways. But after the intentional rest of last season, stepping back into movement may bring up some new concerns about resources, leading you to cling to what you already have with grasping, slightly desperate hands. If you find yourself getting caught up in fears of not having enough, take a step back and give yourself a chance to honestly look at all that you have. Assets, energy, or time may be a bit slim, but your supply of these things is likely not as limited as you think — and it may be that in letting fear drive your actions, in falling into patterns of hoarding or stinginess, you are actually limiting your ability to flourish. Where can you release control a bit, give yourself some space to breathe? What are you really worried about, and how many of those fears are actually grounded in reality? How can you balance taking necessary risks with protecting what you have already cultivated?
For you, Libra season was all about awareness, stillness, and contemplation — and as we move into Scorpio’s fixed water, you may find yourself eager to stay in an place of observation and thoughtful reflection, moving with gentle intention rather than rushing into any sudden changes or major decisions. Patience is a powerful skill, and it will likely serve you well to take care before making any big movements, thinking through different possibilities and allowing yourself to be open to multiple perspectives.
How do you balance your own emotions, your wildness and compassion, with a willingness to wait for the right moment to act? What bubbles up within you that you quiet or suppress, and when do you let that intensity run free? You may have even more internal strength than you realize, so celebrate those victories, and give yourself credit for how far you have come. What bolsters your strength, and how do you encourage yourself when things feel challenging?
